didn't hang around when she points to dash cam
Best bit of 'TV' I have seen in years... just needs speeding up a tad, and the Benny Hill music in the background.didn't hang around when she points to dash cam
I'd slightly disagree, people do behave a bit better when they notice a dashcam... I have a rear facing dashcam too and when they clock it they do back off. (I don't lane hog btw, just one of your usual BMW, Audi types not being able to do 100+ mph on a busy motorway).Reading these with interest; my view still remains that they do not prevent the incident happen, but deal with the aftermath.
Given the claims made I am surprised they (insurance industry) are not making them compulsory... maybe they prefer their clients to lie in the hope ot avoids a payout???
I don't know how far this goes in reality though. In my first incident, the claim went in our favour 100% but the third parties insurance were still protesting innocence and it was some sort of stalemate even after my we were paid out...The insurance industry now ask at every renewal or quote, if you have ever had a policy cancelled or refused. Presumably if you commit (or are suspected of) insurance fraud, this is going to stick permanently on your file (although there seems to be some thought it is only for 6-years)?

Catman recommended one to me sometime back but silly me forgot to order will look again for details but defo need to get them fitted in the dailys. Might need to think of a removable version for the classics, wire them all up but just swap the camera to the one being used
I've got this one currently https://amzn.eu/d/bW112DZWell I’m convinced! Any recommendations of one to get??
The company I'm talking to recommends Blackvue cameras, which are quite small. Depending on the model, you can leave the camera recording when you're parked (needs a separate battery) and there's also a model that uploads footage to that there 'cloud' (requires a monthly sub). This means that if your car or the camera gets stolen you can watch the drama unfold / hand it over to plod.Well I’m convinced! Any recommendations of one to get??
that's the one, its a bit more pricey here about €202Mrs C has one (Mine came with the Carplay screen purchased from a member)

As stated before, I wouldn't be too picky about cost as the quality of the recording is paramount.
If fact, wouldn't it be a good idea for those with dash cams to upload some random non-incriminating footage and the make/model, and resolution of their camera for comparison, rather than rely on manufacturers claims. that way we can judge for ourselves?
The problem is that most ways of sharing degrade the quality. What I upload to YouTube for example is vastly inferior to what I can view off the memory card.As stated before, I wouldn't be too picky about cost as the quality of the recording is paramount.

The footage I have just shared from YouTube shows registration plates - on my PC it’s even clearer. You can screenshot a still, though. Should reveal if index plates are readable (which I think is probably high on the critical list of attributes)

This is worth a watch if you ever use valet parking at the airport - even with this footage so hade ti track the owner of the firm down at home to get him to make good the damage.
Without the dashcam I had no chance.
