I must have been tired, I barely noticed yesterday!

It has been an ambition to have a vehicle lift in the garage since it was planned 27 years ago, 26 years ago when I built it I had the base engineered as a ring beam and raft so I have a 10 tonne spot loading on any part of the floor. This meant I could bolt anything down anywhere, I put a full loft in but entirely independent of the roof so that it could be removed to make way for a lift. As it turned out I have been able to save 1/3 of the loft one side and a small section (about 600mm) the other side by the insertion of an RSJ. The garage is 50m2 on the floor with a full 5.0 opening door x 2.4 clearance. I originally planned to have a ring of RSJ's around the loft height to have a travelling crane too but this was beyond my finances at the time so I'm using traditional engine lifts like everyone else :)

Part of me wanted a four post lift but the wheels free two post is just fine and proud to have it now :) Next on the list after sorting a new Maserati will be to get the ramp motors and electrics replaced and commissioned (need to get it 220v three phase rather than 415v as then I only need an inverter).

Today I am mostly writing up.

Have fun all...

I dream of a living in a place with a car lift, so jealous Newton!!

Needn't cost a fortune mate; paid £145 for mine (plus £100 to ship it and lord only knows how much to reconfigure the garage and I still have to get the electrics sorted)...

Think the landlord would complain if I bolted one of them to the drive!! :lol2:

Plus we at work know that seller very well, wouldn't have to bid on it would get me boss to talk to him ;) Be=sides bidding on it would mean I am bidding against the seller, I knows that website inside out, its the main one I watch for my boss at work ;)

Morning all, as reported on SM, the replacement Mito finally arrived 06.30 this morning :) another black twin-air, well spec'd and most comfortable. Claim is underway for the Maserati and we will how that goes later. The 156 is still drinking engine oil but otherwise sound and the Aygo is trouble free with its new engine & gearbox. Getting back to normality slowly.

Have fun all...

Morning all, how nice to have no politics on this side! Some sites in south and east London to get to today, may pop into the scrap yard with a few hundred kilo of metals from the latest garage clearance, mostly brass, aluminium, motors, wire and iron heavy aluminium.

Have fun all...

Morning. Well it is for me. Stayed up till 05:30 watching this Brexit thing, I could not believe it was unfolding before my eyes. Don't get me wrong, I voted out but thought there was sod all chance of it actually happen.

Welcome to the first day of the rest of our lives.

Ditto Matt, was a bit stunned when I got up this morn, honestly thought it was a big sham and one massive smokescreen. never thought for a second it would actually happen!!
