So, I've never done a track day. What kind of wear and tear does this put on your car, assuming you are reasonably sensible? I've heard stories of it being a set of tyres wrecked, brake pads shot and clutches failing. It is really that severe or is it more like a few days of spirited road driving?
I have done brunty twice and llandow once on the same tyres i have had on the car for 18 months.
My car has just passed its MOT in rude health again. The only notable wear and tear was front tyres gettting low and front brake pads. But the tyres have done 8k including the three track days.
I would say brunty takes more out of the car wear and tear wise simply because we are running 30 to 40 minute stints and the last breaking zone can at times be a full on 150 to 20 mph or less slow down / stop depending on the traffic at the exit corner.
I have had a new wheel bearing on the front left but that was down to a faulty speed sensor for the abs and some minor play in the bearing.
Llandow is 110 there abouts max but you will get feathering on the edge of the tyres which will scrub off anyway. I would say thats more to do with the amount of grip you get from the track anyway.
All our group stayed on the track with no problem. There were a few lotus cars that spun out at the bus stop part of the track. We were all well spaced out so no real danger of accident damage either.
