Morning all, sorry for the absence .... been sorting a few personal issues out.... on the good news front, i'm no longer on facebook :)

With you on the Facebook Nik; I've weaned myself off it since the Spain trip, I deleted it off everything mobile but not closed my account or anything so I can still keep some sort of tabs on the kids!

Morning. It blooming freezing out. Just been to pick up the tree, expecting a fully fogged up car come home time.

Tap 'o de marnin' to Y'all!

What would we do with our time if we didn't have puzzles to solve set by previous owners of our vehicles?

My personal choice would be Freecell on the computer. Sad ;(

Imagine, if you will, a car swapping hands like a burning coal for no other reason than somene (Previous previous previous Owner) had forgotten to replace an obscure earth bolt?

Yeah, starts OK with a fully charged battery, Yeah, runs well on long trips apart from a few instrument glitches. Nah, doesn't like being wound over on the starter for too long so make sure the engine is warm when guys come to view it.

SOoooooooooo simple when you find the fault and SOooooooooooo obvious it becomes embarrassing to tell.

Needless to say it was worth the hypothermia (exacerbated by finding that my working trainers leaked icy water onto my feet) to nail it!

Have a good one Guys. :)

Feel your frustration Peter...

Always look on the bright side of life ... Te-dum tedum tedum Te-dum.
(As the song advises.)

I’m thinking of the added value of the shiny new bits others have fitted to the car in their efforts to resolve the problem -

- compared with the cost of a setscew and a copper washer :) ;)

I’m quite a happy bunny at the mo’, despite the double pneumonia.

Good morning everybody,

Peter, did I miss something, do you have a new car?

Yes, I have become a 2 car family.

Waiting for the GTV to become a classic was getting tedious so I got me an official 'historic vehicle', an old 4 seat banger of stolid British design and manufacture and - taxless (yippee!).
Reason being 'cos the village shop is a long walk if the Alfa is not available.
I found bi-cycling too slow but strangely fast when braking and as a team we were far too dangerous on the local roads, I was told, when the Alfa was indisposed a few months ago. :) :)

Nothing unusual to see here I think Nick but as you've asked - here it is tarted up for showtime about a decade or so ago.

Looks just as pretty today, being GFRP.
Rumour is that it was the 1974 show car but I'll need more proof before claiming that one!

GTV loves this cool weather but is a bit skittish on the fine Cheshire? salt they are scattering on the roads but it made a fine snow plough a few days ago up here in the forest!

:)
