Hi Ian, I wish I could say that I have, but unfortunately no. I haven't actually looked into it, as I've been busy doing other things to my car. It has been investigated in the past under the previous owner. If I ultimately keep my car, I'll look into it further, but right now it's for sale. If you make in headway could you possibly let me know? Cheers. Nick

thanks, will do. My only clue is that it is coincident with the battery going flat. I'm probably going to have to sell too as my car is getting very little use. Cant quite work out the market - the cars seem very under valued. Good luck.

They are massively undervalued. There are 2 on autotrader at 7/8k... that's crazy.

Hi, how is the sale going? I spoke to an alarm specialist resulting in me fishing out the alarm ECU and sending it to him yesterday along with the circuit board from my two keys. He rang me earlier today and advised he could repair. £120. I should have everything back by the weekend. I'll let you know when I've put it all back together and proven it has worked. Ian

That's very interesting. Previous owner spent £500+ looking into it! Please do keep me updated and I hope it works!!

Hi, fitted the ECU and trim, seats, etc. All good. Everything working with both keys. Happy to talk you through it if you choose to get it done. Ian

That's great news. Any help appreciated because for that kind of money, it's 100000% worth it!

I'm well versed with taking the seats out etc is the alarm ECU in the centre under the ac controls etc?

Hi, no it isn't. It is behind the panel in the rear on the passenger side. You have to remove the rear upright seats, then the rear seats, then the metal strip across the upright leather panel to access the trim screws. Remove upper trim, then lower trim and the ECU is hidden up in the void behind the small ECU that you can see which is the movement sensor.

You have to remove the bracket holding the movement sensor and then undo the same type of nut above (there is a triangle shape of three screws which come through from the underside. All three nuts have to be removed and you then push the screws back through. This releases the bracket on the inside of the void that the alarm ecu is attached to).

You need to reach out to abacus alarms. He charged £125 plus £10 postage. He found that the ECU board was broken and needed a repair. You also need to send him the boards from inside your keys too. If a chat would help then just reach out.
