I have to agree that the diesel is the one to have, even though it sounds like a tractor. The petrol 2L was gutless and the 3.2 was good but thirsty and [depending on the year] in the higher tax bracket. [Yes - I've owned them all!]

This is my local dealer - I'm known there!!. Saturday may not be good - some of us do other things at weekends such as watching **** football. Weekdays are better for us non-working types. Can't commit yet until I know the proposed date.

Although I'm East Midlands based I visit the South West regularly [Devon] so, if convenient, I would join your party. Where are you thinking of setting up? I think it's a good idea to arrange regional events to allow more people to meet up - and it gives me an excuse to use my car more! John.

Matt, not wishing to tell you what you probably know, but are you going to arrange for some alignment checks after removing the bent bits prior to rebuilding it? J.

I still can't get used to the sound of a DIESEL in my GT but I have to agree that it is the best variant [I've owned the 2L and the 3.2L so I can rightfully compare]. I get 43mpg with ample performance and better handling than the others. Good luck with the rebuild Matt.

I met Dave last night and he seemed to be relatively normal - just shows you never can tell! Hope he wears his sandals and enjoys his veggy meal whilst riding around Millbrook in his milk float.
