That trip to the Orchard and Ace is now starting to look a bit expensive...

Apparently 38 in a 30 in Harefield, even though as I recall I was being pretty careful.
It seems like a very third-rate process for taxing me £100 for driving around. More like a scam run out of a tin shed in Bangalore than the State magisterially controlling the behaviour of its citizens.
First you fill out, in black biro, a scruffy grey form giving all your details, incriminating yourself, contrary to common law.
Then a few weeks later you get another grey rag form telling you, very obscurely and confusingly, using thousands of words, to pay a fixed penalty and post your driving licence to Wales.
So you pay £100 - online, hurrah!
And fill out, in black biro, the new form with all the same old details, again, and
post it, with your licence, Recorded Delivery, to the DVLA.
And then a few weeks later you get the same bit of paper back, with a rubber stamp on it, and your licence attached with a bit of sticky tape.
Presumably at the DVLA they batch them up, send them over to someone 'working from home' in Pont-ar-llechau who pretends to check that you paid, and that the licence matches the form, while watching the
rygbi on the telly, casually using his crappy rubber stamp and a bit of sticky tape to finish the slick process.
