Seems I'm not the only one who has fallen for an impulse purchase of one of these.

I've never owned a car with Busso V6 yet, so this seemed like a good way to do it!

Pick it up this Sunday, essentially it's a 2001 Spider 3.0 24V 6 speed.

I've already ordered an ASBO spec Wizzard exhaust.

The car is high mileage but in super condition.

Some of the stuff in it's favour:

Cambelt and Water Pump done 2 years ago
4 new tyres 500 miles ago
A respray (seems like a good one)
New Oil cooler Lines and Oil Cooler.
All suspension bushes replaced with poly bushes 6 months ago.
New Battery last month.
New rear screen
Leather in great condition.
New 6 months ago standard exhaust (way too quiet!)

In general a huge folder of invoices.

Downsides are that it has 134,000, but honestly the condition is fantastic underneath and all around:)

Hard to resist!

That means that I have managed to end up with three Alfa's, the start of an addiction!

Some not so great photos when I went to view...

Maybe it's end up sounding bit like this:

Although it's more of a cruiser, complete with scuttle shake!

I agree, Silver was not my first choice, I wanted to look at a Blue one with Tan interior, but it had rust, corroded brake pipes, no cambelt and pump change anjd was generally rough, no mot, various things, for basically only £1400 less.

Silver was such a popular colour around this time! The red lifts it a little though :)

Very Nice :) Don't worry about mileage they are good for it. We have two V6 , and a 2.0 Spider :)

Ditto on the mileage, as long as it is looked after, my 2.5 V6 is now on 164k and rising as it's my daily. Very nice btw :)

Disagree, the old nose looks dated and the new nose modern and inline with the current models...but what do I know, they are all beauties :)

I think I prefer the early nose but Matt is right the later nose does bring it a bit more up to date.

I prefer the earlier nose. Its more in keeping with the rest of the lines of the car. To me the phase three nose looks like an aftermarket mod. What do I know though? ;)

Suppose you have to look to the market and let the prices tell you what is regarded as best.

V6 3L £5-8k
V6 3.2L £12k plus

Ok the 3.2 GTA is a peach of an engine and you could argue that’s why they are higher but I just love that P3 3.2 all over...body and soul.

I could have almost bought three of these for the price of a P3 in that case then :)

I like the rest of the P3, just not the bulging nose.

It's not the sharpest tool, scuttle shake an all, but it is fun to drive and quicker than I expected, effortless and silky smooth that engine.

It's way too quiet though!

The Ant eater it was known as when first came out. I like both. Early one looks a bit cluttered and dated now, new one looks in keeping with the newer cars but possibly a bit big. Whatever, you can't see them while driving! :)

Loving this so far, as is my other half who has borrowed it quite a few times in the lovely weather.

Surprise surprise I has to change the MAF sensor this weekend, paid £97 for a genuine Bosch Sensor (to insert into old housing) which I didn't think was too bad.

The car had a bit of a stutter before, but now resolved, the MAF sensor I removed wasn't a Bosch one, and I cleaned up the TB and also changer the air filter for a Pipercross non oil one.

Also have a short shift bracket to fit, and Wizard Exhaust coming soon ish.

Even more satisfying is that I already have oil filters and oil "in stock", Mahle filter is the same as my old Giulia, and the oil is the same as 3200, 10w60 etc...

I loved my 3200 of the same age but it is nice just not to have so much spaghetti junction under the bonnet, I always think having turbo's although nice always means a lot more to sort out plumbing and wiring wise.
