Ii took my car for a burl yesterday and upon hard acceleration the MSP light
on the dash momentarily came on.

I then started switching the MSP button on and off but it wouldn't light
up on the dash.

Eventually it did, so I tried switching it off and on but couldn't get it
to stay on. Eventuslly, I forgot what sequence I was up to so I don't know
if it is now on or off as the light didn't come on again.

I'm a bit wary of driving it with any exuberance if the stability control is not on.

Could it be a fuse about to or now finally failed? (I'll check that today) or Something more
sinister?

Ok I have discovered that to switch it off you need to hold down the button for a couple of seconds. Seems this is to prevent accidentally switching it off. It doesn't however explain why the light momentarily came on?

The light will flash under hard driving if its called into use. It's monitoring all the time and when it needs to "take control" the light will flash.
Particularly noticeable when accelerating too hard too soon when leaving a bend.

I also suspect with the very cold weather, tyres are way less good at gripping than normal, so very much easier for MSP light to come on

I think if Webber had a knife in his hand.....it would now be embedded between Vettels shoulder blades!

Ok, so now I have to wait to watch the highlights on the BBC and this sounds like its going to be a fun one!

The MSP light comes on when the system realises you're trying too hard : )
The MSP-with-a-line-through light means its switched off, so your life/insurance policy/embarrassment is in your own hands...

It was indeed lovely today Richard, I took the family for a hoon, I mean a drive to Williamstown for an ice cream but at one stage some darkish clouds appeared and I was genuinely worried that my Maser was going to get rained on!!! Thank God they soon moved on, the sun came back out and it seemed like it didn't happen.

I only have ASR on my 2002 Spyder and it steps out by a foot all the time. I have had it go to what feels like a few feet at least !
The ASR is always on but the light never flashes even when wheel spinning, be it from a standing start or on aggressive down changing. It is definitely is more tail happy since I had the DMS remap but more fun as well.
I'm not sure if its really working at all as the point that I let off has always been before it try's to cut me off.
I'm a bit more repectful after I span my QP onto a dual carriageway:roll_eyes:

I've certainly triggered mine, and felt it in action as well as seen the 'drive like a muppet light' come up....
