I'd like to express my thanks and gratitude to Marios and his team at Autoshield, and whilst I'm at it I'd like to also thank Richard Grace for putting me on to Marios, he might not remember the conversation we had before I bought what I now call the 'Dark Night' but I do.
For those of you not in the know these guys are the real deal and I would not hesitate in recommending Autoshield. With this in mind I'd like to share the experience with you in order to help other Maserati owners and future owners. So the story goes I buy an expensive car, after two days I hear a metallic rattling over my head.
On further investigation I pull a detached what seems like drainage board from the sunroof area, and not knowing what to do place it in the boot or the car and there it stayed for a long time! All is still ok as it's summer, the roof works and it's not raining much however after cleaning the car, something I do often I would find water inside, usually on the seats. My local friend and mechanic had a look and recommends I stop using the roof as there is concertinerd material gathered at the back of the roof and to find a specialist. The final nail in the coffin came after some recent heavy downpours, water leaking into the cabin and saturating the alcantara headlining, not much but action was clearly needed.
After speaking to a few companies all of which involve a long slog I remembered the conversation I had with Richard, he mentioned that some of you guys take your cars to Manchester so I called Marios (pm me if you want to know the rationale behind the decision and information on costs) and the rest you know.
I live in London, Autoshield are in Manchester, so you have to make the effort to get the car there. The car arrived on Tuesday mid morning with a list of things to address including the roof. I have it in my mind that the car will be there at least 7 days however on the train home about an hour out of Euston I get a call from Marios telling me exactly what's wrong with the roof and what options I have. By Thursday I'm told the car is ready for collection Friday lunch time, amazing!
For me trust is everything when building relationships, and like all of us I don't like being ripped off. Marios is as honest as they come, a gentleman and now I'd like to say friend. Apologises for the length of this post, hope it helps.
