QP 2009 bose problem

Hi the bose infotainment system in my qp s has decided to have a major strop.
It was working fine yday afternoon then last night froze on the home screen. I managed to get it to the am radio screen but can't get it to shift from there. I've tried the usual trick of switching it off taking the key out and restarting the car but that doesn't help.
Coincidentally the parking sensors packed up for about a fortnight then decided to start working again earlier this week.
Any help much appreciated.

Italian Gremlins no doubt. Perhaps a battery reset might help but some of the more experienced members here will help you.

Might be in need of an update.
You would be surprised as to how many updates we get from the factory weekly.

Is it quite easy to update the software, Phil, and do your lot charge customers for it? I may need to check with my local MD whether they updated mine at the last service (like I don't know the answer to that already... They didn't even notice that the a/c pump clutch bearing thing was goosed!)

Been a learning curve for me Adam.
We get updates from the factory all the time.
The diagnosi is in the workshop all day and we check all the car's that come through us.
I stand to be corrected but I can't see that independents will have what we have.

Hi,

I am having the exact same issue.

I actually had this problem before and fixed it by randomly inserting a USB key into the system.

This time it does not do the trick.

Did you manage to fix the problem ? And if so, how ?

Thanks so much in advance for any help provided.

Note that I went to the MD and they claim that there are no update for my system (QP 2009)

Have you tried a battery re-set? I can often be successful in all manner of electrical gremlins with these cars - good luck

Yes I did, without success.

I called the local dealership, they might know a procedure to reset the computer.

Today is bank holidays here. I will try to call them tomorrow

Sounds like a similar problem to Contigo does it not. Phil had a thread about this recently I think.

Hi,

Any chance you could point out that thread to me please ?

I have just spent one hour trying to look for it, without success :(

I am starting to think the problem is not my car, it's ME ! :)

Yes but not sure it is the same NIT unit on the QP. Remove it and have a look for a hard drive in there.

Wasn't suggesting they would be. If he looks to confirm then I am happy to try help fix it. My QP had no HDD but I see that the newer cars have a 30GB Jukebox made by Magnetti Marelli which is similar to the one in our GT's.
