Thought I'd relay some good news!
After my window regulator failed recently I have finally got the car back. It was 2 weeks to get the part from Italy and the fitting was done in a further day. HOWEVER, as one fault was fixed another occurred whilst at the Main Dealer. The multi-plug was disturbed during the work leading to the air-bag light showing. After three more visits to remedy this I now have the car back in my garage. I did get a bit fed up travelling 30 miles on a bus each time I had to leave it with them. The dealer did offer to collect the car in their covered truck. I declined this as I didn't want my poxy neighbours thinking my car was being repossessed! Another upside was that all this was done under warranty - i.e. Warrantywise who have caused a few on here to complain.
[I still think it's poor that the regulator failed in the first place on a such a low mileage car]

Yet another example of sloppy workmanship....it really reflects very....very badly on a top end marque that this is the standard they work too...sorry to hear of your hassle AM!

Never mind waiting two weeks.......not good enough!

So i take it you have a few Michael Caines living at no 39 eh John you should have gone for the free covered lift and given them something to talk about, my neighbours are used to being woken up in the early hours by a 40 artic car transporter , tho usually its to deliver one and not take one away , Glad its all sorted mate , its one of those hit and miss as to why or what makes it happen , but its reasonably common , good news warranty wise paid up , look forward to seeing the all new sparkly one soon as , eh can i feel another pub meet coming on in Rugby for the midlands northern contingent , hopefully we'll have food next time

John

Glad to hear you get on Ok with Warrantywise. I had a bad experience with them last year but always nice to hear the other side of things when it goes well.

When I bought my latest Mas a month or two back the dealer wanted to give me a Sytner warranty backed by - you guessed it WW!
After much discussion and calls to Italy they managed to get me the Maser new car warranty even though the car was over five years old by about 3 weeks and therefore too old officially.

Anyway, good to hear things went well for you.

Cheers

Dave
Had the same discussion re warranty with the [same] dealer but I agreed to WW anyway. They said 'it wouldn't make any difference to me' - BUT it was obviously cheaper for them.
It was all part of the negotiations during the acquisition of the car and I accepted the situation not knowing that others had cause for complaint. I hope this service continues in case I need it again!
Regards John.

With reference to my original post on this subject - there is now some less than good news! The air-bag light has come back on the first time I started the car after just parking it in the garage for a few days - nothing to do with loose multiplugs during any vehicle movement it would seem.
Back to the dealer again this afternoon but at least they didn't make me travel home on the bus - this time a door to door chauffeur service. This is getting very tedious as they have had the car more than I have - been to the dealer that often I've even got my own chair in the staff canteen now.
Too much of a coincidence not to be related to the replacement window regulator job.

Ideally John they want to grease the electrical connectors , may well now be a dry joint breaking occasion contact , or even replace that small part of the loom , i believe its a seperate piece

They have already used contact spray on the joints and 'tightened up' the whole thing, I'm told. No wiring has been replaced as yet.

Update [or not]
Just to say that my car is still at the Main Dealer. They have at least ageed that the airbag may be faulty after all [or it became faulty during the window reg. work] and have also said they'll replace the door loom. The last comment from them was that the 'parts were on order'.
BTW is it the 'Maserati way' that you share ownership with the dealer?

If Graypaul is your dealer , then the answer is probably yes John , seems they have a habit of this , asking people to leave their cars for extended periods , with one guy ,they wanted him to leave his car with them for 4 days just to diagnose a problem , i'd start kicking up soon if this isn't the final once and for all fix

Yes Loz, they are. However I see no point in 'kicking off'. All that will do is give me a moments' pleasure and ruin any goodwill I may have got. Perhaps a different approach might involve some benefits in kind when I do eventually get it back.
[Hope you enjoy Classic Le Mans].

Latest update [more episodes than Coronation St.].
After a further 2/3 weeks it's my turn to borrow my car from the Dealer. Most of this delay was waiting for spares - viz. airbag and door loom. Now it's back together and the airbag light has [up to now] stayed off! Because they've had the door card off and on more times than a t*rt's undergarments, the finger plate behind the door handle became a little distressed - so I requested a new one, which they put on.
All done for now AND those nice people at W/Wise are paying.
I wonder how long I've got it for? BTW I know I share this car because the radio is always retuned to some rubbish station, the driving position has been altered and more worrying, the MSP button is ON.
