Yesterday, in a fit of madness, I bought this.....

Winter project. It's in amazing condition bodily with only a small rust patch on the driver's door to repair. It's been in the UK since 1998, with the last owner since 2006. Original Italian market car from first year of production. 2L v6 biturbo pushing out 180bhp with a 5 speed manual.

It's been sat for 3 years but started happily after a battery boost and settled into a nice idle after 4 or 5 minutes of warming up.

Hideous interior however the main priority is to get it recommissioned and through MOT before I worry about making it look better.

Looks very tidy indeed, good for you :) No.1 priority has to be oil & other fluid changes, not forgetting the coolant given the expected weather this next week up there!

It's been garaged since it hit the UK in 1998. The paint is great and I'm sure it was repainted in Italy before it got here. Only done 75,000kms and it shows. All fluids will be changed inc. coolant and brake, we have a sticking caliper to sort, I think i'll put on fresh rubber as the Fuldas it's currently wearing have been on it for 10 years plus. Plenty of tread but given the wayward handling, best to get something new on there! I think it was rustproofed on arrival to the UK as there is plenty of waxoyl on the underside. I'll look to refresh that anyway. Alloys are mint too which is great. I even have a few spare including seats, glass, a couple of alloys etc

I don't think we'll have it ready to hit the road until February or so but i'm not in any rush! Best to keep it away from salty roads anyway.

My wish list is quite long already but given the maximum value of these is small, i plan to keep one eye on the reality. A usable classic for sunny weekends is all I really want.

Hexcellent! Looks like a good bit of fun for hopefully very little (initial) money ;)

They are a hoot to drive, as I'm sure you are discovering :)

The way he and the prog. treat cars has really put me off to the point that I have not watched it for ages.

I hate to see anything just broken or damaged for little reason, I don't find it funny even if it happened to be a car I didn't like - even a bmw!

The biturbo looks great I hope you have some good fun with it!

Thank you for assuming my home is a good home!!

Less than a day since I bought her, she's already booked in for recommissioning and MOT. Should get her legal in January sometime, maybe February. I'll keep you all posted.

Had a chat with Geoff at Shiltech about one he had in his garage last year - he was most taken with it... Notwithstanding the reputation for dissolving if taken outside, and a unique approach to how electricity should be used in a car, he thought it was a cracking car.
