Kill them with fire......let loose the dragons

Gawd Tess, steady on! –

Now I can believe the story told of ’Jemima Fawr’ who reputedly during the Napoleonic invasion of Wales and, armed only with a pitchfork and Valleys voice - she alone, on her own, single handed and by herself captured 12 drunken French soldiers at Llanwnda and turned them in to the Militia!!. That’s 4 against 12 by my maths!

There’s nice then! :)

Unfortunately, by y’er t’other side of Offa’s **** (OK then Ditch) in Angle Land we’re dragon-strapped due to a public spirited guy called Santa George who slew our native species to extinction yonks ago - so perhaps herds of our numerous wild boar with Gaz blowlamps Gaffa-taped between their jaws will suffice for retribution, if required?
Unfortunately they are flightless but do have tusk weaponry which I have not noticed in illustrations of your Welsh dragons and they trend to a more burly body build so, dressed in suitable kit, they could be bussed into Swansea under disguise as visiting rugger teams.
Lets hope it doesn’t come to that but I’m still waiting on a confirmation receipt email from DVLA (I did tick the box on the cyber form!) so it don’t look good.

Hi Mr Conaero
Interesting piston crowns in the photo but it could be the lighting? Glad there's no damaged bits and hope it all goes well on re-assembly.

Mornin' fellow forum members.

Feels too cold to be wukkin' on cars outside today. I really need a heated motorhouse to avoid fffrosst b-bite and snowball fingers. :(

However only 43 days and 13 hours to my first (spectator) event of 2018, the Goodwood Members Meeting. Ta-dah!!
Lets hope they are not gifting Norra virus as a souvenir again this year.

I imagine there will be little problem in 'sniffing them out' as they are not completely house trained Tess but as for the dragon police 'escorting' our ferocious Franco-English wild boar back over the Franco-English bridge - dream on! You should see what they have done to the Forest of Dean - and they have also driven the feral sheep into urban areas.

Observe and tremble! :)

Our police are big and burly and not scared of little piggy wiggies lol ...tho if they are big piggy wiggies they may just run lol

Up late today and busy on my non-Alfa.

Good morning everyone! :) :) (just kidding, it's not really morning)

Ripped out the aftermarket steering wheel and fitted an original I refurbed which is about 3 inches nearer the facia and now my fingers reach the column switches.
It's good also to sit in the car in the attitude that the designer intended and far more comfortable and, incidentally, safe.
Loses the bling of the polished alloy but I can see all of the instruments now which I find quite helpful.
Big end tap on No 1 cylinder was I have discovered due to low oil in sump (as delivered to me by the previous owner who was an engineering technician!
As if I was looking for more jobs! Hope it's not slapped the crank journal too hard,

A good day today, the first lamb was born last night so the farmer and his wife will be working shifts till about mid-March. Good security measure for the cars as a side effect.

Tess, our Anglo French Boar are built like brick storehouses, not much smaller than my GTV, same colour (nero) and twice as heavy ++!

Still no communique from Nik, her thumb print must be firmly embedded in his forehead :)

Mornin' all :)

Sprinkling of snow overnight so it all looks like fairyland.

Brain still hurting with yesterdays wrestle with the birdsnest of wires under the bonnet of my 'other car' where the main loom used to reside.
40 years plus of owners 'patching in' overlong & overrated wire with garishly coloured terminals inadequately crimped. and those dam tiewraps!
Next job is to source a supply of bullet and spade terminals and then redo all of the connectors.
Gave up working outside eventually after a further 20 frustrating minutes trying to fit 8 new cylindrical fuses into the original fusebox with numb fingers.
I know when I'm beaten .. I think.

This is for you Nick if you read this ..... :)

Have a spiffing day everyone!

Mornin' all!

There's a nip in the air today (as the Yanks observed one day in the 1940's in Hawaii) but it's onward & upward today.

Many many fine tasks to be done like the alternator - desoldering the phase wires from the rectifier.
Memories from the past - and even today the solder won't melt normally, is it a tempering process over years of use I wonder? I'm pretty sure they used 'hard' solder at the factory but although the surface melts even a mega iron will not free the wire. Scientific butchery required here as Scotchlocks won't do it! Please avert your eyes if you are of a sensitive nature!

Can anyone tell me if the 'Fox' and 'Easter Compton' Alfa meets are still taking place? Nick said it would be up to the new AROC organiser but I have been unable to find out (probably because I don't do Farcebook!)
I guess we could just carry on if not, if anyone's up for it?

Have a fun packed day everyone! :)

Morning, off over to the machine shop shortly to pick up what I am hoping is a fixed 2.4 JTDm cylinder head for my Brera. Pinkies crossed.
