Hi all,

I have been busy over the last few weeks working on the 33 which developed a gearbox oil leak, nothing major but enough to get my finger out and source the issue.
Anyway seeing as its easier to take the engine out to get the gearbox off I'd thought I'd replace the Cam belts , waterpump and clean the engine up after replacing a few oil and water seals.july 003.jpg

I have taken the liberty to show you the size and bore of my bespoke exhaust system which I will be cleaning up whilst its of the car. Apologies for the lack of a digital read out on the calipers, the battery cover is somewhere on the floor but as of yet is very good at hide and seek. You can also see where the gearbox oil was dripping on to the exhaust just as the branches meet.

I also decided to tidy up the paint work on the block and polish a few bits up again along with cleaning the engine bay and replaced some grotty looking core plugs.
The gearbox was black with oil and dirt and took nearly a whole day to get to where the image is.

Hi Nick,
I'm waiting on some gearbox oil developed for a Limited slip diff and a pipe expanding tool then I can put it back together, hopefully in time for decent shake down before Retro rides at Shelsey.

Hey Iain, Niks told me all about you, thanks for the pics, looks like you have been busy.

Just finished a rebuild of a 3.2 Busso myself.

iain, where did you get your silicone hoses mate?

I bought mine from a Autocross and it took quite a few measurements and checking bend radius, a Motorsport specialist in Wokingham but if you speak to Alex P I think he can get you complete kit.

Nope, can't get a complete kit anywhere for the 8 valve ;)

I bought all mine through careful measurements most of the tubing are cut down fro a 1 meter length, you just need to find a decent motorsport supplier or get ripped off through Demon Tweeks.

Shiny ,Shiny Exhaust just before re-fitting it, and yes nick the car is back together , took all weekend to do it and a bad back from lying on the concrete floor. All that's left is to top up some fluids and give it a run.
