Q4 Restoration

After much heart searching the decision has finally been made to restore the Q4, it was that or the Maser QP IV but the Alfa tugged the heart strings more.

So the plan is to build a fast but standard in appearance wide body Q4 for road use.

Step 1: Remove the engine strip and rebuild as required to deliver a smooth, reliable (I know) 300 BHP plus motor. This work is being under taken by A4Alfa with some help from some Fiat Coupe tuning specialists to set up the custom ECU Map.
Step 2: Remove the coil-over suspension which although awesome on the track is just too hard for road use and build slightly lower than standard firm but compliant setup
Step 3: Will be to address any tin worm issues and then a full respray in the original Proteo Red.
Step 4: Remove the leather interior and fit an recommissioned original narrow body half leather setup.

Hopefully this will be all done this year, ideally for the 155 Scotland trip in October. If all goes well it should end up as near original to look at but with the uprated motor, suspension & brakes should be a bit of a sleeper until you stamp on the loud pedal :)

Quick update on progress

Recently it has been a case of chasing down parts. Original Q4 interior acquired from Yorkshire and current leather interior sold and on its way to Hull.
Original Q4 airbox sourced from Latvia for the princely sum of £40 delivered :)
Monday she enters the workshop to have the engine removed prior to strip down so we can see what we have to replace

Currently searching for a set of Compomotive TH2 wheels, LHD centre console & Silverstone / 33 rear spoiler.

I suspect there was some effort but you know what I mean. Now to strip and rebuild with new components and more power. Maybe it will look like this when it goes back in

Well for various reasons it has been some time but now the engine is in the machine shop for measuring and once measured we can order pistons & bearings
