And a lot of other people besides. We’ll cancel our trip in September now and push on with plan B. 3 nights Troutbeck, 1 night Arrochar, 3 nights Isle of Skye and 3 nights Alnmouth.

That's it won't becoming to Blighty now and another year my daughter won't be getting married.
Becoming a big mess again if this is what it means by living with it.

I agree with you phil. I’m all for getting on with things but it’s a moving target and I think it will be for a long time to come. It makes planning ahead impossible. Still we can only do our best.

Second jab on Monday and then the EU digital certificate 2 days later, there are some benefits of living in the EU but still not planning to travel this year.

Totally get starting to live with things but throwing out all the safety measures makes little sense to me, social, distancing, hand washing and face masks on public transport and in shops all seem reasonable control measures that don't fundamentally disrupt daily life.

A friend should have sung at her friend's wedding yesterday but was pinged by the track and tracers and had to self isolate instead :(

Some of our le Mans crew pulled out of this years event earlier in the year, including me, but over the weekend the remainder finally decided to call it a day. The lack of clarity of what access will be available, along with restrictions of travel / quarantine between UK and France finally broke the camels back.

Roll on 2022

Said that in 2020 too. Frustrating

2019 was the last time we went, madness.

I know but for us it is the event and the atmosphere and that is being curtailed with current restrictions. Le Mans without the madness in Arnage, without the craic in the campsites, without 100,000 Brits filling every bar just isn't Le Mans. On top of that a number of teams have pulled out, especially those coming from further a field so the racing is likely to be limited, potentially more processional. I will go back when Le Mans is Le Mans again that is what makes it.

Look on the bright side, we have healthy livers.
Not true. According to me, a liver needs a bloody good workout at least annually, ideally in France or other not-here place, with mates. Likewise digestive systems, gobs, lungs, ears and all other components need a right-good bolloxing to keep them in good nick and remind them who's boss.

When are we going?
