Well, as a two-jab man I was just thinking about emerging from splendid isolation, when I got a message from Dave Morris. Apparently he is once again organising a Supercar Display at Oulton Park, and would like as many Maseratis as possible. For anyone who has not been before this involves turning up at the circuit at about 9.00 - 9.30 (before the crowds arrive), and parking up in a reserved show area for the day with the occasional Ferrari, Aston, etc. At one time it also used to include a display lap or two around the circuit during the lunch-break, although that has not happened for a few years now. Dave provides free tickets for driver and passenger (or two if he is feeling generous!).
What we have done in previous years is meet up at the Lymm Services just off the M56/M6 junction and then convoy from there to the circuit, picking up the odd car and even odder driver on the way.

If you want to come, please could you add your name below, and I truly hope to see some old friends after this horrendous last year and a half!!

Count me in please. I'll meet you at the gate as I am only 25 miles east of Oulton Park.

Actually, as Mick says, it is better if you join the convoy at the Riverside at Acton Bridge. That way we all arrive at the same time, and there are no stray cars hanging around the entrance and making the stewards unhappy. It is also more convenient for Dave to bring us the tickets if we get there together.

Well, looks like being not too bad a turnout - and the longer-term forecast is for next Monday to be dry!!

In terms of timings, I am just double checking with Dave Morris what time he wants us there. I will post it on here as soon as he gets back to me.

Dave has asked if we can be there for 9.30 am, so if I remember correctly from all those years ago before the pandemic, that would mean leaving Lymm Services at 9.00, picking up the oddities at The Riverside at Acton Bridge at 9.15, and so getting to Oulton at 9.30.
I will be one of the oddities, and will be at The Riverside. Is anyone else going to go there rather than to Lymm?
I am really looking forward to the pleasure of seeing you all!
PS Hate to mention it, but a major meeting at Oulton Park tends to be one of the rare occasions when we actually see any of the fine men and women of Cheshire Constabulary - particularly on the stretch of the A49 between the A556 and the A 54. There is a layby which is a very convenient place to site a radar trap!

I'll also be at the Riverside at Acton Bridge at 9.15am.

Travelling up from south of Oulton Park and prefer the scenic route to the track than the M6.
