Not quite morning, but been a hectic day. Shut up shop & sent the boys home, been an mentally draining few days, wresting with my moral conscience & the need to keep finance flowing into the business. Funny sence of relief now the decision has been made, but strangely emotional. Let’s hope in 3 weeks time Boris has some good news until then Brace Brace Brace....
Hope everyone is well

Well as I work outdoors, solo (with my daughter) and close areas whilst I work on them, I have had the ok from most of my customers to carry on as normal. Today we worked in the unit this is to minimise the time needed on site tomorrow.

Morning folks!
Respect to those of you having to make these decisions and I hope you're not going to be hit too badly with loss of trade.
This morning I'll be creating an email to rebuff a colleague who emailed quite a lot of people yesterday to throw his toys out of the pram. Clearly lost control to the point where most people receiving it just laughed.
Other than that... I'll probably head back out on my bike for a while. I'm certainly getting in some good exercise with this situation going on. I got a new gps and heart rate watch yesterday and stuck a cadence sensor on the bike so I can finally track myself properly. Having speed, distance travelled and HR visible was notably helpful.
HapPea Wednesday!

Good morning all......Still have to work due to DHL seen as critical...Which it is now we have moved the majority of colleagues into the supermarket supply chain....Feel anxious going to work to be honest but as long as we all follow the rules it should be OK.....Hoping that once I have sorted out the last few colleagues into other work I can work from home. The biggest challenge is making colleagues stay 2 metres away from each other.....Think we are there with that one now. Take care all.

Morning Chaps and all especially you boys on the frontline.
Andy you must be worn out.
I hope people in the UK are starting to take it seriously and following the guidelines ?
Cycling here in France is banned.
Can only exercise in your neighborhood and all open areas locked down.
Really frustrating with the river walks at the bottom of our garden.
Stay Safe all.

As always Andy the star example mate , well done and hope today goes well , feel kind of useless sitting here as a computer warrior , though still relatively fit and tenacious im placed in a catergory of (must stay at home , hard though it is to compound , i'll content myself im not spreading stuff to others , My mate retired Police seargent for over 25 years tried yesterday to offer his services back to the force , was a Motorcycle trainer , they turned him away as he had retired 9 years ago ......only 63 and a fit cyclist

Morning all and apologies for going AWOL the past week.

Its been a trying time as Crofty and others have been going through the same issues.....stick or twist?

Running 4 companies has come with a high level of stress.

The workshop, Ryan has been forced to go home until further notice but Ashley and I remain to keep the business open. Ironically we have a full compliment of cars on site so Ashley and I are at the “you will have to drag us out” mentality. So the stress here is fulfilling customer expectation and parts interruption.

The graphics company, Trev and I can work from home so that one is not such an issue but will we get paid by companies whom find themselves in a similar financial situation? Our main area is healthcare support services so their concerns are understandably elsewhere at the moment.

Commercial leasing business, this is tricky. Am I going to get paid by my tenants and can I pay the finance.

Then finally there is this forum which although runs itself is financed by our sponsors whom I can appreciate are also firefighting at the moment.

I do however feel reassured by Boris and his government and if the financial assistance that is promised comes through will see us ok. They need to make more provision for the self employed and my worry is that the UK’s business and financial situation will be decimated for the next decade as a result.

Stay safe and look after the ones you love.

Cheers Matte for all your hard work, should the need be and times get tougher, I am sure a few on here will be happy to help to keep the man cave operating

Morning all, great update Matt, hang in there, Andy and others, it is tough, interpreting the ‘rules’ as they develop. As I said yesterday, I don’t need to interact with people to do my thing so doing mopping up jobs while I can.

Have fun all...

Good morning everyone, strange times that we live in. Hopefully society will be better after this lesson. Not to take things for granted but no doubt that this will be lost on some people.

Morning everyone. So heartening to hear some of the nice ways people are pulling together.
For our part we're looking at being able to help some smaller businesses in some perhaps not so obvious ways, but more of that later (maybe)

Today I shall be WFH and going out for a couple of miles walk with Mrs C later and looking at how I can make some remote Kung Fu lessons to keep in touch with my students.

Take much care, everyone
