Great news! It also quashes the nonsense posts from those claiming it'll only appeal to "men with beards" etc
Exactly! No tall northern beardie would be seen dead in a Lotus.

PS - blue with yellow callipers and yellow internal stitchery. And as much Alcantara as you can option.

If I was that way inclined, I’d be tempted to go for the 4 pot with DSG. Then I’d get it tuned to 500 bhp and away you go. Obviously it wouldn’t sound as good as the V6, but the power delivery would be ferocious.

No doubt there will be crazy tuner versions on both engine types very soon.

Beware of men with beards and workshops :p

That option does appeal, but Lotus has the ECU locked down. Not impossible though, somebody will figure it out, but few would do this within warranty period, which is 3 years.

Plenty of twin turbo Hurracans within warranty... Although, mainly in America where the tuner culture is stronger.

I can see you in one Dan…

You know I'll have one. Fell in love with it at Goodwood!

Just a few work investments to prioritise first, and a few dedts to collect (the government currently owes me £400k for a completed project and are being very slow to pay!) And then I'll put my order in or more likely end up paying a speculator a premium for one.

Fortunately, I have the number for @Contigo

Ok, I’ll admit it, it may appeal to some women with beards too.

I saw a picture of you earlier. I'll admit I was surprised.

You do yourself an injustice by the way you post. I thought you were 60+ years old!!

That’s the problem it’s only old car geeks that think Lotus are cool. I like the Emira but like you and everyone here we’re car geeks. We might think Lotus is cool but we’re just the modern version of the pipe smoking, beard growing MG owner of the 1980’s, the Cayman buying general public thinks they’re plastic nasties that smell of glue.

The Evora flopped. Massively well received, loads of pre-orders. No one bought them. Look at all the ones you see with AU plates, they were on the Lotus company car scheme, my mate had one, £300pm.

The Elise and Exige sold much better because they were the best in their niche but I can’t see how this fills that gap. It seems they’re doing a Bahar again

The Alpine has flopped, again massively well received, loads of pre orders, no one buys them. It’s competing in the same space.

I think they’ve made a mistake and should have gone for the Elise market.

Back on topic of V12 AM’s, I’ve just had the rear valved box of my Vanquish replaced with a custom stainless system with simple H pipe.

Saves 30kg of weight and the sound is just awesome. New mild steel back box is £5k from AM and the existing one shows what a pile of mild steel old c..p some of it is.

Not sure they have made a mistake with the amount of pre orders they have. The most successful new car launch they have had for orders according to the company. Lotus needed a car like this to live away from what you have said above for me. There are people from different forums that have placed orders. I know of 5 Porsche owners that have and lots of interest from people who wouldn’t normally look at Lotus. All good so far but let’s see how it all progresses.

I hope it does well too, but I can’t help but think that they’ve lost the Elise buyer and that was their most successful car. The Evora was their most successful new car launch at the time too.
