Hello from soggy North Devon.
Just took on a 4200 as my "family motor" to replace a 159 wagon... bought her at the Historics auction at Ascot the other week. Only driven a few miles to date (awaiting v5 etc) - not got the feel of my Elise (hello selocers ;)) but it's one **** of an occasion... and the kids fit...

Got some oil on the way from Opie and first of what is no doubt many eurospares orders turned up today so about set for a service (last I can see in history was 2 years/700 miles ago at the Shed)
I looked at a couple of GS at around 20k and was a bit disappointed by the state of the underside of them both so I thought I'd go with the stock car that looked nice underneath for half the cost and bolt on a few upgrades - dependent on how much she costs to keep on the road :)
My logic is also at this sort of purchase price I don't need to care about resale values so the fact I home service etc really won't matter as I'm also planning to rack up some miles and she's got far from a clean service history!
Car seems to have lived up in Scotland for a while... where it ran through a big puddle in 2010 and had a 5k engine rebuild at Graypaul via insurance. No Clutch change recorded since 40k miles in 2007 - and now at 80k so I guess one is gonna be imminent!

looking forward to the adventure!

jez.

Purple blazers. There’s something you don’t see everyday!
(Well, unless your kids go to school in N Devon)

Good luck with the 4200 and well played for joining the adventure that is Maserati.

Welcome to the forum and what a lovely 4200. Great selection with a V8 GT and an Elise for those fun twisty roads. What Elise do you have ?

im on my fifth - an s2 k series. I have had an s1 111s (that eventually got turned into a Elise trophy car… the first in fact :)) another s1 that I did a comedy tomcat conversion on (Tomcat lap before it overheats) an s2 k that I type 23’d and an s1 I sprinted with for a couple of years.

Loved the Lotus I have had. Each one had charity and was a hoot to drive. That looks lovely....When I went from the S1 to S2 thought it was a really good step forward for Lotus and it just got better from there.

Hello and welcome... nice to see the back seats of your 4200 being used, I also plonk my kids in the back when Mrs.makeshift is riding shotgun... it's deceptively spacious back there!

Welcome and welcome also, to your daughters. Future forum members maybe?
The 4200 looks fabulous as does the Elise. I don't know anyone who didn't have a soft spot
for a Lotus Elise. Thanks for reminding me. There's an Esprit I must check on
