It's only me that goes up there but as I fell through a smaller hole last year badly bruising myself I will be careful as I don't want earache from Ms FrenchDon’t fall through the hole

Use your noggin...fit short noggins in between the floating joists but really they need support from underneath or above.

Doing it from above is my preferred option Martin.
Since you do not want poles from the ground to support the beam which should chain the edges, my advice could be to attach it to the roof frame which appears to be very strong, or to another beam wich lays on the ist floor but much longer in order to distribute the weight

It's big enough for Cars.and the hole you made in the floor may not be big enough, shyness?
I'm not working on Vans and 4x4's.

Could you not just run a beam under the raters you have cut and then run vertical props below, I would have thought 3 big supports strategically placed to be as out of you way as possible would work. Maybe one in the middle next to your ramp post and one at either end. Alternatively you will need to box out the cut beams and then run verticals up to the roof beams but that looks quite a distance
