Blu Sofisticato, navy hood, ‘Poltrona Frau’ Bianco Pregiato perforated leather with Blu contrast stitching and embroidered Tridents, aluminium trim, silver MC-Design wheels, yellow brake calipers.
No carbon fibre, no Bose. Drop dead gorgeous genuine 4 seater MC convertible in a stunning and rare colour scheme.
History, just serviced, brakes, bushes and subframes all good (see below).
4.7 litre V8, 460 bhp, ZF 6 speed MC Auto Shift with paddles and auto-blips on downshifts.
(Note the robotised MC Shift – console buttons instead of gearknob – was not available on cabrios).

£54,500 or offers.
More pics at end of ad.
97910
Options :
Metallic paint - £564.
Skyhook continuously variable adaptive damping - £1758.
Comfort pack (heated/memory seats/electric steering column) - £1320.
Perforated sports leather, stitched Blu Tridents, Blu contrast stitching - £1250.
Navy soft top - £960.
Tyre pressure monitoring - £600.
New price with options was approx. £120,000.

MC :
The £8000+ Maserati Corsa package gives the buyer a convertible version of the MC Stradale fitted with the ZF automatic gearbox.
MC includes a lower more aggressive Stradale nosecone, vented bonnet, vented wide wheelarches, wider MC-Design 20” wheels, fixed rate suspension (this car has the optional Skyhook suspension) and a much better looking rear end with a free-flowing centre exit twin sports exhaust increasing power slightly to 460 bhp.
With the switchable exhaust valves open this is one of the craziest factory exhausts I’ve heard – it is literally a musical instrument. Downshifts, overrun, full throttle, it’s so full of character and is immensely rewarding to drive using the paddle shifters even at low speeds. Valves closed, it’s almost silent on a cruise. Best of both worlds.

Service history :
10061 miles - Maserati 7/15, invoice/stamp.
19329 miles - Maserati 8/17, invoice/stamp.
24654 miles - Specialist 9/19, stamp only.
29000 miles - Autoshield - Specialist 7/20, stamp only.
30700 miles - Autoshield – Specialist 3/22, invoice/stamp.
Marios at Autoshield this month : “It’s a good car”.

Modifications :
I’ve fitted a remote exhaust valve switch giving the option of Sport exhaust with Comfort suspension and had the wheels refurbished from black to silver.

Known Granturismo/Grancabrio problems/big expenses :
Brake discs and pads - replaced 2000 miles ago – Autoshield Maserati - £2000+.
Suspension bushes - replaced 5000 miles ago – QSTuning, Haywards Heath - £3500.
This car has zero damage to the leather around the rear seats – it’s very difficult to repair.
The BIG one : front subframe rust - this is absolutely essential to check when you’re buying – this car was almost perfect (please see photo) when I bought it in 2020, then it was rustproofed by Autoshield, then also dinitrol’d.
This car has no ‘sticky buttons’.
Do have a look on the SportsMaserati forums for buying advice and scary subframe photos.

Downsides :
A couple of small chips to the paint, faint scratches here and there but overall bodywork is excellent.
Hood has slight wear on the folds as you’d expect.
Tyres are Falken. I don’t like Pirellis and couldn’t get a full set of Michelins when the wheels were refurbed but Falkens are still very good middle-range tyres.
Service book has been water-damaged but the service stamp pages are all ok.

Two keys, Maserati toolkit, Maserati tyre inflator kit, Bluetooth connection.
All handbooks and manuals in correct leather wallet, original Maserati sales brochures and price lists from new.
Old MOTs, service invoices/receipts etc etc.
HPI clear with report from when I purchased in 2020.
Eligible for modern classic insurance.
Private plate in pics not included – will revert to original FJ14CWY plate shortly.
For sale due to building work meaning loss of garage space. I’ve owned the car nearly two years and sadly covered less than 2000 miles – covid, other cars, lack of spare time etc.
Apologies to serious buyers but please – no groups of idiots or timewasters. I’ve seen it all before so please don’t waste my time. No part/ex, no canvassers etc.
Test drives at my discretion, me to drive only.
Any questions do please ask, PM’s best, or reply here, professional inspection welcome.
Thanks for reading, Andy

I'll give you 8k and not a penny more. That's what the for sale sign says.

Thanks all. I've been told the loft conversion we're getting instead will be much more useful.
It's been a great car - it needed discs and pads and tyres when I got it but other than that it's been perfect, doesn't use a drop of anything... apart from the odd bit of petrol...
Knowing what to look for on these cars is purely down to this forum. Thank you.
Gazcw - the 8K Sale sign was removed yesterday afternoon - sorry - better luck next time :)

At this price, most buyers source from dealers, so they get the peace of mind of a warranty, finance options, etc. I used Dicky Grace to sell mine, which he did very professionally. Just thought I’d mention it in case it helps you.

23/3/22 : PLEASE READ :
I bought this car in 2020 from a respected high end dealer. It was HPI clear. This car had private plate MA52HAL on it, from 3/11/16 to 5/3/19.
HPI Experian have told me :
Registration MA52HAL was marked stolen on the police database 5/3/19 and removed 7/3/19, 48 hours later.
Registration MA52HAL was also marked stolen on the insurance database 6/3/19 and removed 2/4/19.
These dates are after registration MA52HAL was removed from this car.
DVLA, Leicestershire Police, Greater Manchester Police, Green Flag car check (2020), Cazana car check, Total Car Check and Carvertical (2022) have no record of the Maserati being stolen.
However, a potential buyer used a company called mycarcheck on 22/3/22. It listed MA52HAL being logged by Leicestershire Police as stolen recovered on 4/3/19. Leicestershire Police stated today 23/3/22 by email that they have no record of this stolen marker, however mycarcheck appear to have different but incomplete information.
mycarcheck email to me 23/3/22 : "
Thank you for contacting us. I can see from the report that the stolen record is incomplete - no VIN number has been provided. I can also see that the plate history of your vehicle (VIN ending 5307) is ambiguous as on the 5th March 2019 both the plate FJ14 CWY and MA52 HAL were registered to the vehicle.
Unfortunately we are not able to amend the data we receive. We rely on the data provided to us by our data partners which we report - we cannot alter the data."
I am trying to resolve this with their 'data partners' if I can find out who they are. Update to follow. Thanks, Andy

That's a lot of hassle you don't need. Hope you get it sorted. The 8k offer stands. ;)

Welcome to a “New World Order”.
The data doesnt lie.
Had a similar thing with my Alfa I was trying to sell in Oz a few years back.
Dealer had input the mileage incorrectly.......15,000......had been input as 25,000.
Logbook etc service history proved it...was 15,000.
When I tried to sell it at 22,000 it looked like it had been clocked.....and warned everyone accordingly.
You’re guilty unless u can prove innocence.....which was a right pain in the ****.

It's bloody annoying. I had hassle with it in 2021 when I tried to put my private plate on it.
DVLA wouldn't allow it initially as they wrote back refusing saying "According to our records the recipient vehicle has been stolen and not recovered. Our records show the vehicle was stolen on 5/3/19. Please contact your local police station to update our systems in order for us to process your application." - err hang on it's in my garage, it's not missing, it's clear on HPI and after wasting a lot of time asking the police it came up clear on the police PNC system too - plus the 2019 theft date was after it had been bought and sold twice with new V5s provided by DVLA and had another plate change with DVLA as well!!
It appears the theft happened when the Maserati was "in between" plates, the problem MA52HAL plate was in the process of being transferred off it and onto what I'm guessing would be the new car.
Nobody seems to be able to tell me exactly what make or model car was stolen - no VIN being linked to the theft doesn't help at all.
It's got no signs of being stolen - both keys, no damage etc etc and is HPI clear on every check I've done or I wouldn't have bleep bought it, and neither would the dealer I bought it from in 2020 - he sourced the car in 2019 for a friend of his then sold it again in 2020 to me. That dealer bought it a few weeks after the theft date from the private owner who'd had MA52HAL on it - that provides a reason why the plate was coming off the Maserati as the owner was obviously preparing to sell it hence the plate change. I'm trying to get the dealer to speak to that owner to find out what exactly was stolen but data protection blah blah is preventing that so far.
I'll get back to you on the 8k...

My neighbour just announced he "might fancy a grancabrio". Where are you and the car?
