Range Rover advice

This is the weirdest thread on here. People freak out about a Maserati clutch that might one day cost them money, or variators that don't really do much but drool over Land Rover products which are utter rubbish. You'd be better spending a couple of grand at a dominatrix than pouring it into the brand with the worst build quality known to man.

I've owned 2 range rovers, one of them tried to kill me (really, I needed 3 stiches when the rear view mirrow fell off and split my eye open) and the 2nd one drove like a boat and cost a grand every 3 months or so for something or another.

Masochists, the lot of you.
Ye gods and little fishes. You talk about "the weirdest thread on here" yet in one post you manage to cover emergency surgery, maritime exploits, car repairs, spending habits, and sexual proclivities.

One can only marvel at your lifestyle

The air suspension is already broke but it's all connected to the abs sensors.

I'm thinking positive, if I had 10k in one I'd be worried but 3k , nah I'll just keep it until something big goes pop then sell it for spares for £1000

Oh, I get it, 100%. I've owned a myriad of cheap cars just for fun. I hope it proves to be a mega buy for the money, I really do. All I'm saying is that of all the cheap cars that seem to be bargains that are our there, the RR may well be the most wild. For example, I had a £2500 Cayenne S that was Cat D and had 120k miles on it. It was great for about 2 years, then it wasn't. But I still got £2k back so whatever.

You always have expenditure.
I've had my little Pinin nearly 4 years now, bought for £1,700
Discs pads and full exhaust system.
All cheap though.
Fortunately the things that go wrong with JLR products seem to be reliable with Japanese stuff, like the engine, gearbox and electronics!

Absolutely Mike I ran a Vauxhall Monterey 3.1 Diesel manual box 4 wheel drive a re badged Isuzu Trooper trouble free for many years towing my boat and rally cars all over the place mostly on vegetable oil.
Only replaced with my first Range Rover after someone drove into me on a blind bend.

You lot have obviously jinxed mine. New driver's door handle cable ordered lol.
Jinxed mine too - off Friday to Best Turbos for a pair of turbo chargers after it dumped its oil in the intake! 170k miles not too bad apparently and the first non consumable expense in 2 years and 20k miles of ownership. £2800 but two years parts and labour warranty.....

Passed the test drive , everything works , bought a £35 Groupon for an ats AC gas as it's still working but cool rather than cold

They're just going to re-test it tomorrow then I can pick it up when they're put 12 months ticket on it

Picked it up , just 2 codes that won't clear.

P0071-00 AMBIENT SENSOR NO INFORMATION

U0424-81 INVALID DATA FROM HEATER /AC control module

Air suspension and all the abs hdc etc all working , it's nuts how many systems go down when an abs sensor fails

Drives much better at the proper height

Just over 3k in it now
