Red paint for cylinder heads

Hi again

Step by step working through the list of niggles / improvements on my GTS. Some paint (large-ish area - not a small chip) is missing on both heads around the flanges where the oil filler aperture is (and the same location on the LH head). Anyone know if this can be patched (and if so where can I get the paint) or do the covers need to be stripped and completely repainted? I guess to get the wrinkle effect it needs to be sprayed and also able to stand high temp.

Sounds equal parts, exciting, challenging, rewarding and dangerous. I'm up for it but need to find the correct colour paint. Any suggestions? No good if I get the perfect crinkle but the colour is off!!!!

Mine had chipped in the exact same places and re-painted them when I did the gaskets. I used VHT SP204 Red Wrinkle Finish Spray Paint. Complete strip down and repaint so can't comment on the colour match but here's how they came out. You spray right onto the metal and use a heat gun to wrinkle. The more heat your apply the more wrinkly it gets.

Impressive job - nicely done! Shame the cylinder head gaskets on my car were replaced before I received the car 2 months ago...... Thanks for the images!

Stratstone Ferrari send them away to a shot bladting firm that does the respray and wrinkle effect. It comes up like new and is guaranteed.

I saw a Ferrari with the red paint incomplete. He said it will be sorted prior to sale and how and where they send it to get a professional finish that they can warranty.

Can't remember the name of the firm.
Never asked the price.
