Well after an early 4200 and then an early GT it is time for a change..I NEARLY went for a late Granturismo but ultimately want a bit more technology....and now the kids have left home I don't need 4 seats anymore.....I have enjoyed (most) of the ownership experience hugely (apart from the odd horrendous bill) New Jag P450 Dynamic R -V8 arrives tommorrow- will be interesting to see how it performs but servicing and parts will be a lot cheaper. Hopefully Jaguar GB will have better after sales back up than Maserati GB whom I have found totally unhelpful and disinterested in helping after the 3 year warranty has expired (variators, roof lining, interior panel glue, subframes, etc) Will be back when the new GT arrives!!

I know a few people that have F-types and they all love them so I'm sure you'll enjoy. You'll need some exhaust mods to get the same effect though!

I have an XE and the tech is pretty good - I think it's been upgraded on the latest F.

Best of luck. I am going through a similar process having had a 3200, 4200 and currently a 4.7 auto GranTurismo. I thought about the 450PS F Type so please post your impressions as you go through your ownership. I also wondered about a second hand DB11 or paying up for the new Maserati Coupe but instead I have ordered a base 911 having not had a Porsche for 15 years so will see how I get on. First step is whether they can actually build the thing.

Edit: You do right to buy the Jag used as when I did the PCP comparison for new cars the Jag depreciated more over four years than the 911. No surprise in that but, used, the F Type is great value and a V8.

The Jag F Type is a decent car, so congrats on your choice. I got myself an F Type R rag top earlier this year and I’m really liking it. I did have to wring a bit more power out of the old girl so I’ve gone for 200 cell cats, a smaller blower pulley and the appropriate software. According to Paramount, that spec should be around 620bhp, but I could do with a chunk more to make her really hustle. I think you’ll be really impressed with touring fuel consumption but horrified when you really push on. Tbf, it’s a big leap in capability, and usability, from both your Masers but it should be as it’s a lot newer. Enjoy!

You definitely need more power. It was almost embarrassing pulling away from you recently in my tank. Funny, though :D

I was dropping back due to the spray and rocks you were throwing up. Perhaps they were just falling off the small island you call a car. C**t.

Best you STFU or I’ll get ‘my man’ to make your collapsing Death Star sound like a Tossler with a flat battery.

What a stunning F Type. Jaguar have done a brilliant job of updating the car. That car also looked a good price as was looking at the advert the other day. Enjoy.

Displacing road surfaces is an unfortunate side-effect of having sufficient torque to alter the earth's rotational force. It's a shame (for you) that your car is underpowered and couldn't overtake :rofl5:
Sounds like you're just the man to displace climate protesters - once Benny has finished playing with their eardrums.

If 'your man' has the ability to turn sound output into silence then please book yourself in for a full conversion. I'll pay.

He’s good, but not that good. Tbf, you don’t say much, but when you do it’s absolute bollox. You snivelling, sh!t sucking, bag of cr4p. C*nt.

We tested an F type a few years ago - very very nice, very very predictable - does everything it says on the tin perfectly - just lacked (the) character, (especially of a (our) Maserati). Maybe when I have some grey hairs!!

Charlie test drove a soft top Jag the other week with me in the passenger seat...I was very smitten and if it had a trident on it I would buy one today.

She thought it was just a little too big and prefers the MB SLC
