A friend of mine is selling his mother’s old car. Anyone interested? R reg and one careful lady owner from new. Apparently it still runs and is stabled near Derby.

Wow that could be made into a really nice car and a nice useable classic for someone.
Easy to work on and could be recommissioned very easily.
If it had a Ford badge on it with a twin cam motor it would be £100,000 ;)

Is this the one ?

Yes, that’s the car, I’ve never actually seen it. He said he’d tried advertising it and no interest so far! I think the family are really fond of it, hence why they kept it for so long.

Looks like a lovely project, they should get in touch with a Lancia clu.

I love Lancias and one of the (very) few cars that I genuinely regret selling was my Beta Spyder.

And turning an HPE into a sleeper car has been on my to do list for a while .... but this one looks too good to chop about.

I still drop into the Beta owners forum on a regular basis (horribly named BetaBoyz) and am happy to post a link if you would like?

Yes, could you please? I expect it is a pretty niche market for this Lancia model. Betaboyz certainly has some connotations. I now have that Bronski Beat song as an earworm.

Correct, the 037 cockpit was made partly out of Montecarlo pressings.
From the spyder cockpit and they put the double bubble roof in it's place. There was a company in Blackpool doing the 037 replica conversion about 15 years ago but it was very expensive so they were obviously going to go 'tits up'!! How many Montecarlos are left? And how many owners of those cars would want to convert them?
