Hi All

I've been looking to for a 2010/ 2011 Granturismo for a while but living in Ireland there isn't a lot of choice over here and import duties are prohibitive in sourcing a car from the UK.

I've been offered a 2011 GTS with 1,600 miles in Dark Grey, Grey Birdcage alloys, Yellow Callipers, Black Leather with Yellow Stitching and it's an Auto. The price is fairly strong but considering the mileage and that it is being sourced from a main dealer it's probably about right.

I've been struggling to find a buyer's guide to one of these cars – current car is a CL500 so I wanted to try and get an expectation of things to wrong / bills/ economy / niggles etc. in order to commit to the purchase. I should say car will be a daily driver but mileage will be about 8k per annum.

Appreciate any advice you can offer.

Welcome Griffith, We have a few Irish members so you have some company out there to offer local advise. This really is the best place to get honest answers about any prospective motor and concerns. I'm sure Frank and others will be along shortly to offer assistance and some hand holding as needed.

Hi Griffith......welcome to the best Maserati forum in the entire universe......:)

Some of the GT owners will sail buy....not any real issues per say....its under warranty still ( effectively a new car) and if in doubt could extend it...........its mighty car....well made and very reliable from reports to date

Hi Griffith,
Is that right, it's only done 1600 miles, or do you mean 16K..?? GTS are a lovely car and as far as I can gather, reliability is spot on. Like any other supercar, you will have bills, but unless you do very high mileage these will not be excessive compared with other supercars around. Enjoy the wheels and the constant smile, totally different to a CL500.
Cheers

Thanks to all for the great welcome.

That's correct it has less than 2k miles on the clock so it's practically a new car. I spoke with the dealer at lunchtime and put in an offer below asking - in order to sweeten the deal he's offered a 2yr warranty and reduced cost servicing.

To be fair, I'm already making space for it in the driveway but it's great to hear that there are no horror stories for these. Outside from the dated infotainment screen I can't see any drawbacks.

2 year warranty eh, very generous of him... especially considering that they come with 3 years from the factory and it's just over a year old.

Supurb cars though, and it sounds like you're already sold ;)

Push them really hard for a deal, I got over £5k off the screen price and £3k more for my p/x than they first offered. They won't exactly be inundated with buyers at this time of the year so your in the driving seat.If your buying off an official Maserati Dealer they will have a healthy markup on it.Good luck.

Agreed with Robert, I love the retro screen in the middle. It's even got turny dials to tune it in!

By the way, I just happened to find some buttons on the back of the steering wheel which adjust the info on the screen. Never noticed them before. Easier than playing with those sensitive turny buttons.

Cheers,

Is it a CH car? If so they have a fair bit of stock just now so I would have thought a good deal is there to be had.

Good luck, nice to see another Irish maser on the forum.

Yes it is, good to know. Sales man is very keen to do a deal so I might push a bit harder.

Could anyone give me an idea of big service items to expect over the next 6yrs / 60k?
