33 PAS pipes

I wondered if anyone with a RHD car could help?

I'm trying to re-fit the rigid PAS pipe that goes across the back of the engine bay below the steering rack but I can't remember how it fits. I have fitted the 2 white plastic clips in the holes just under the rack on either side of the transmission tunnel but the pipe does not line up with both of them and I wondered if either the pipe is the wrong way round or if the clips are in the wrong place. I've tried turning the pipe around, upside down etc and the way it currently sits seems to be correct but it won't line up with the clips. Any info would be much appreciated.

This is how it currently looks:

Richard, let me have a look when I go home, I cant remember off the back of my head now, but whatever you do, DONT bend the pipes to fit the clips

Rich... your pipe seems a bit odd mate. I've checked mine and as far as I could see your ends are where they should, only you neen to shift it to the right (as you see the picture) to get the clip holding from the curve.

Yeap. Its confirmed :p
Just turn the clip almost 90 degrees and move you pipe to the left of the car and up :)

thanks very much Chris that's really helpful. As you can see from the second picture there isn't much room for the pipe to move across towards the left of the car due to the bend in the pipe but I'll give it a try. If I turn the other clip through 90 degrees I think the pipe will be going slightly uphill but I guess that must be correct. If you could take a photo of yours I'd really appreciate it.

Any luck with the photo Chris?

I had another look and I'm still having problems. I can't seem to move the pipe upwards any more as it fouls on the steering rack. Should the side on the right of the photo (left side of car), go behind the rack somehow? Is the pipe supposed to go in before the steering rack (from memory I removed it before removing the rack though)

lol

Sorry mate, been a bit absent minded lately. The baby isnt sleeping well and neither am I :/

Richard, the thing is mate, its very restricted under there to take an actual picture with the engine and gearbox in. from the top its impossible to see, so I need to take some pics for you from underneath the car.

I promise I will do my best to take the pictures tonight and send them to you. I've put a reminder on my phone as well :)

thanks Chris, there's no huge rush so whenever you're ready (just didn't want you to forget!). Hopefully I can solve this mystery soon so I can get the engine and gearbox refitted...

Thanks for that Chris, the pictures should be a great help. I'll have another play around and will see what happens. From the pictures it looks as though the pipe doesn't go behind the steering rack on the left side of the car...
