Hi All,

The usual suspects are coming back with really high quotes and I wondered if anyone knew a specialist or broker who might be able to help?

Cheers

I've just insured with Churchill for £352, tried Saga £1200. Used Go Compare comparison site.

AiB was very competitive for mine this last year.
Forum sponsor I think?
Agreed value, no no claims required, was approx £350 with all mods declared.

Try A plan , thatcham branch only , they specialise in performance cars , just check the level of glass cover that comes with it as on some policies they only offer £500 cover

I just got Hagerty to take my GS on a proper classic agreed value policy. They wouldn't last time I asked as it was too new. 2000 miles was about £420, inc European breakdown cover. Low risk postcode, garaged.

Oddly I have just put mine onto an Admiral multi car policy - saved me approx 25% over other quotes.

2000 miles? You need to drive it more!

Just don’t use Adrian Flux. Complete sharks. They will mess you about and lie to you.

AIB were good this time around. Also had a great service from NeedToInsure, who no one has heard of, but are an independent broker who do good agreed value policies with a personal service.

Had poor service from Lancaster. Very call-centre ish and impossible to speak to same person twice. Also poor when claiming.

Also poor when claiming.
I've heard similar about AF and it's worth checking any insurance companies revues on this before taking a policy with them.
Last thing you need when you've had an accident is the insurance company making the situation worse.

AF can be annoying, but every now and then they do come out with the best quotes, never had to claim so cant judge on that, just taken out a collector car policy with Footman James and they are simply superb from initial contact to setting up the policy

I'm using AF. Quote was competitive and have agreed value. Don't think I've had any issues so far.

I use Lockton and have generally had good pricing from them, as well as excellent service. Iirc I’m paying about £450 for 32 year old.

They don’t price in no claims bonuses, but will happily accrue them so that when you leave you’ve built them up. They’re more concerned with your driving history - what sports cars have you owned and driven? Over what period? They seem like genuinely old fashioned insurers who care more about experience than ticking the NCB box.

Check that you are covered fully comp when driving in Europe. Alot of them knock it back the third party and forget to tell you until you make a claim . Admiral covers it as standard .
