4c service

Can anyone recommend a main dealer to carry out servicing on my 4C? It is due its first service & requires the 'blot tightening' my local main dealer didn't fill me with a lot of confidence....I'm not sure they've even had one in. I have been quoted around £900, seems to be the norm from the 3 I have called. Don't mind traveling to a dealer if there is a cost saving?
I know Alfa works will do this & I trust them completely, but not sure how this will sit if/when I move the car on as they are not a main dealer, you know how picky buyers can be.

Jamie Porter (Alfa Workshop) are widely regarded to be the best 4C experts in the UK. I wouldn't trust an Alfa main dealer to service my bike and I think most potential buyers of used 4Cs would tend to agree. I therefore don't think a non main dealer service history would be likely to affect the value when you sell up, personally I would actively avoid a car with full Alfa main dealer service history!

Used to use Jamie when he was starting out (pretty much) Would have very little hesitation using him again.

Assuming it is new does it not need to be a main dealer?

Jamie is becoming the 4C expert and I have used him for years although I know use Paul at A for Alfa as he is closer and for a youngster is just as good especially with the older stuff.

Cheers, think I'll run it up to Jamie, they do know their stuff & cheaper than the dealers, like I mentioned I don't think my local dealer has serviced one!
I'm not concerned about warranty, I think if you can prove correct service interval & parts, the manufacturer has to honour warranty.
My main concern was what it will look like in a few years time if it's not been looked after by a dealer.
But I agree with Dickie though would rather the car was looked after by someone who knows tha cars inside out rather than the YTS lad at the dealer. I think anyone looking for one in the future would hopefully think the same.

What's the parts situation with these Alfas now Crofty as there no longer in production...

There a guy who has one in storage where I keep the old 3200GT, he's been waiting for nearly six months for a rear bumper and two rear lights, they say there out of stock

I'm not sure, would seem a bit short sighted to stop production of panels, but we are talking about Alfa Romeo!
I thought the spider was still in production in Europe?
There is a rear bumper for sale on Fleabay if it is of any help.

Hi Crofty

A bit late replying to this one.

Jamie Porter is the no-brainer if you are close to that part of the country. I've not personally used him, but I did recently buy my after-market 4C exhaust from him and I could tell from that simple experience that he runs a finely tuned and professional outfit.

For future reference: I have had my 4C serviced by Thames in Slough, who did an excellent job and are very familiar with the 4C. Useful to know, also, if a 'main dealer' stamp in your service book is important to you.

I currently use Huttons in Weston-super-mare, who are also very good and close to home.

Servicing a 4C is a very skilled job, so it is important to get it done properly. Check when you get it back that all the bodywork is properly aligned!

Cheers

Hi, thank you for the reply.
I have used Jamie for some of his upgrades & also suitably impressed.
But I'm in Taunton so a bit of a treck, don't mind the travel if the car gets well looked after, but Huttons are a good shout if recommended? Do they have much experience with the 4C?
Thanks Adam

I couldn't tell you how much experience they have, but they are confident with the 4C and are the nearest dealership or specialist to me that advertises as a 4C service shop.

I've had two services there, as well as a 4C Quicksilver exhaust fitted, and will go back again.
