Which is partly what's fuelling my curiosity. They have a Punto and a Giulietta but have, to date, shown zero interest in anything less mundane.

In the end the gearbox repair was going to cost more than the car was worth so we sold as parts.

It’s all about that 3.2 Busso engine, it’s a rare beast and brilliant. Sold my 3.2 GTV about a year ago for nearly £15k. It was mint but had 85k miles on it.

It’s good to see the Alfas from that period doing well.

Totally agree with the comments on the 3.2 Busso it is a gem and I would happily buy another in either a GTV, or a GT or even a 156 SW but not at the price point. A good 4200 and £10k in the war chest would be a better option in my view.

I had a lovely blue 156 GTA Wagon manual - didn’t do anything brilliantly, but was appealing and went well - sold it for £6k
I had a 156 GTA saloon, it had a black / tan interior and Miro red paint. It cost me £32k in 2002 and I sold it for £4k to help with a tax bill. I did 102,000 miles in it in 5 years and it never missed a beat. I recently saw the car at Auto Alfa where it was having a huge amount of work done both mechanical and cosmetic. If only I could swap my 3200 for another 156 GTA.
