I had an SZ or a Gran Turismo on my short-list to replace my GTV Cup and Porsche 968 sport.

It's going to be the Gran Turismo, but I still think the SZ is a stunning thing!

Some people just like living on the edge.

SZ went back for a few snagging issues and a couple of extra bits to be done late Oct, agreed it would be done in 4 weeks and then lockdown kicked in. We agreed he would keep the car until it was over and do the jobs in between other work. As the UK came out of lockdown we agreed that 2 months ago that as the MOT was coming up he would finish the work and deliver to my Alfa specialist on 19th July for me to collect 26th July.

No problem one would assume, communications over the last 3 weeks, reminding of the 19th date and checking all was good only to get a call yesterday to say he hadn't yet painted under the bonnet, or treated the wheel arches and that ti was going to be tight for the 19th but it would certainly be there for the 20th. I mean he has had the car for 7 months and is only doing the two biggest jobs 4 days before his deadline. He has created pressure on himself and now has to work the weekend to finish. The guy is a genius with a paint gun but has organisation and planning skills are non existence, its not surprising he hardly makes any money.

Rant over

Amazing how people do that. A well known Maserati indi that had had my car for far far far too long called me on the morning I was due to pick it up to tell me they hadn't ordered the protective film for the rear arches. And they might not be there that day.

Like a £30 part. You knew you'd need them 6 weeks ago. Why the Fing F S did you not order them sometime between drop-dead minus 6 weeks and drop-dead?!

Well, when I finally got the car back, it never went there again ;)

I had the same I had my car in to a well know Maserati indie and they had the car for FAR too long and when I did get it back they hadn't fixed the issue properly (subsequently found a number of other issues which hadn't been sorted when supposedly they had) and they hadn't even tightened the oil filter correctly.
It came off in Voicy's hand after half a turn!!!!!

I will never use them again, nor will I ever buy a Maserati which has them on the service history in the previous 3-4 years.
