I haven't had a chance to fit the Wizard exhaust yet regrettably, just been so busy.

I have to say I'm still impressed by the "brio" (motoring journalist cliche) with which it drives, it manages to feel pretty special.

Not driving it as often as I should as I also have the drop top Griffith vying for my affections on a sunny day.

Man maths now starts off thought patterns that involve selling the Griff and buying something else...

Glad you're enjoying it. I must admit to being really impressed with how my twinny drives. It really does encourage you to throw it into corners.

I have a track day booked in 3 weeks but I'm going to have to passenger so M will get the car to drive all day. My contribution will have to be cost and some video production afterwards.

I took our V6 Spider on a 1 to 1 track day, the instructor was quite impressed with the wee thing :) I'll try and hunt out a clip. New tyres and an alternator were required afterwards tho!! Woops ;)

I suspect tyres will be needed afterwards. There’s enough on them for the day but will need new afterwards.

Well, a few months on and I haven't driven her nearly enough.

I did get round to fitting the ASBO spec Wizard Exhaust, it sounds great, although my other half says I have spoiled it, it was the quietest car I've ever owner before that. Also very satisfying that I took it for an MOT last week and it flew through with no advisories and the guy loved it and said it was "solid as a rock" underneath with no rust visible and all fresh bushes etc etc.

Here is a fairly substandard video of the exhaust:

Meanwhile the Giulia QV continues to be an absolute delight day to day!

I like it personally, made sure I went for the twin exit and not the OTT quad exit. It’s quite muted when cruising, no drone etc. I have the standard one in the shed if I change my mind, hard to resist uncorking the Busso sound :)

After a brief spell of contemplating selling I've been sorting of some more stuff on this.

Just done the oil and filter and about to put new discs on the front with performance friction pads in a bit to slightly improve the slightly lack lustre brakes. It has Brembo Calipers and 305mm discs, apparrantly the same setup as original 147 GTA before they increased the disc size etc as people complained.

I'm also going to have the clutch replaced as it feels a little juddery and has a high biting point. With 130K miles I am going to junk the DMF flywheel at the same time and go for a solid flywheel and GTA clutch; the solid flywheel is half the weight of the DMF.

Was tempted to go for a quaife too but the spider isn't the sharpest tool in the box and that's another £1K to spend.

I've also been (modestly) upgrading the sound system as the existing one is terrible. I've fitted a Sony Head unit that has a class D amp, so this means I will get about 43W RMS as opposed to 18W RMS power output.

I'm keeping the stock tweeters in place and fitting some 5.5" Audison bass drivers to the doors, and I've then fitted a 6.5" "Sub" to replace the standard rear speaker between the rear seats.

The original one was a dual voice coil full range speaker, I was able to find a cheap 6.5 4ohm dual voice coil sub and wire it to the existing outputs.

Even better is that the sony head unit allows the rear two channels to be run as a suedo sub, with all the controls.

So all factory wiring and I have a big improvement without too much mucking about; a nice luxury for me and my other half when cruising about, the old head unit didn't have BT etc

That engine continues to amaze! As does how low the car is (almost as low as my TVR) and how **** it is over bumps!!

A lovely weekend cruising about in this, mostly with the top down.

The engine zings out to 7000 rpm in a lovely way yet is super flexible and will take high gears at low revs without complaint, seemingly even more so than some larger NA engines; flexible etc.

Best bang for buck of any car I've ever bought. Manages to feel quite special and ye it's very usable; you don't feel short changed having picked the keys up.
