"The Last Aristocrat"; is that Ian, or his car?

Regardless, lovely colour combination. Well done, Ian. I shall pick this issue up tomorrow.

Absolutely loved it, precisely my kind of thing. Much better than a DB9 in almost every way, though not as pretty.

A certain line will make you smile, I’d imagine ;)

Good to know. I've only ever driven a DB9 on track and needless to say it wasn't really at it's best there. Not compared to a 911 Carrera S or Elise as part of the same 5 car track day I was on anyway.

It can get very understeery. They’re great to drive hard off the track, DB9s. But on a GT level I always found them to be a bit... unfinished. The interiors wear so badly, and the ride can be crippling. Almost as choppy as a GS in sport mode. Yes, they respond well to a bit of hooliganism... but given how useless the rear seats are, if it’s the occasional bit of hooliganism you want, why not get a Vantage..?

I definitely cant claim to be the 'the Last Aristocrat' ....coming from Essex and all that ! But I was impressed with the article and pics. By the way if Nathan wants to borrow your car for a feature, I'd say do it as he sent me about 50 magazine quality pictures they took on the day and they are really impressive. After reading all the comments I think I shall take it out for a blast today.........
cheers and merry Christmas to all :)

In rosso fuoco the 612 actually looks kinda like a concept Ferrari. I will say that it is probably one of the best aged Ferrari.

Just had a look on autotrader, there's a few on there. One at 57k but with 69k miles on the clock and 2005 vintage, another at 124k and only 8k on a 2008. Begs the question. Who buys a car and not drive it?

Not many buy as a daily driver, and if you can afford a new one you will probably have a very nice more practical daily driver. It's usuage will be then probably in the summer nicer weather, then only for pleasure, and such mileage is then not a surprise.

It is very usable though, you really could use it all year round; the level of forethought that’s gone into the ergonomics and dynamics is quite something, something that you’d associate with a more mass market car firm. The doors are specifically light and open wider, for example. The steering lock isn’t akin to turning around shipping tanker. In some ways I was more impressed with how grown up it was, rather than the speed.
