Any suggestions for a meeting point? If a couple of us could set that then we can arrange a meet up date....new thread time I think.

Team GCR, hmmm sounds familiar. Got any Racelogic equipment?

Ok then lets get the ball rolling, I am sure we will all have suggestions for a venue, here are my suggestions.

The Merrie Lion in Fenny Compton. Serves a decent pint, food and very friendly. I know Daphne and Nigel who run it quite well and they are into cars and I am sure they would be pleased to host a meet.

The Bell in Ladbroke. Serves very well kept beer and excellent food. Again I am sure they would be happy to host a meet.

More towards Brackley way there is the George and Dragon in Chacombe http://www.pubdiningbanbury.co.uk don't go there often, car park is a bit tight but might be more convenient for some.

And maybe one for a meet in the Summer The Castle at Edgehill http://www.castleatedgehill.co.uk stunning location and now beautifully refurbished. Good beer, food is a bit pricey but good and worth it for a Summer meet with the view over Edgehill. I know the landlord here too so am sure we would be welcome, Mark also runs the Fox in Farthinghoe for those that know it.

So come on guys any more suggestions?

Partpoot,

Don't think we have any Racelogic equipment. Wh've run a Ginetta G50 in Ginetta Supercut and in we did the FIA European GT4 Championship with it in 2009. In 2014 we ran a Ray GR14 Formula Ford for Joey Foster and had a pretty successful season.

Robin

All look good to me, The Castle is stunning but parking is not great as it's across the road - nice summer pub though. The Bell looks a good choice, fairly central and on my favourite Sunday morning blast road :)

Happy to go with the flow

Count me in, don't mind where as long as the weather is dry!

I guess it depends on when we want to meet up. Weekday evening, Saturday or Sunday etc.,.. different venues may suit certain times more.

Know what you mean about the carpark at the Castle but there is the area outside the pub and I would imagine on a weekday evening if there is not too many of us Higgsy could be persuaded to let us park down there.

If we are going to the Castle Mrs Z will want to come so ideally an evening would work better as we can get a rug rat sitter in

Here we go :)

I'm pretty easy date and weather wise. I'd have to say I'd prefer a weekend meet but I'll go with the flow.

Decent pub food and a good open car park would be good. Out of those listed I can only remember going to the one at Chacombe so I'll defer to your experiences of the others.

There are a few over Milton Keynes too. Maybe they'll fancy a drive out.

How about we aim for Sunday 22nd February, hopefully that is enough notice so that most who want to come along should be able to make it?

For the first meet I would suggest we go to the Merrie Lion as it is a very decent pub and it will be easier for me to explain about it being a first meet in this area.

Hopefully if it goes well we might want to have a local meet a couple of times a year and whilst together we can discuss more easily venues we would like to try etc.,..

The Bell looks a good choice, fairly central and on my favourite Sunday morning blast road :)

The Merrie is, like The bell, just off the A423 which yes agreed is a cracking road just a shame about the 50mph limit they have now imposed!

Here is the website again

http://merrielion.co.uk

and here is the Sunday lunch menu as of January

http://merrielion.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/SUNDAY-LUNCH-january15.pdf

If this is a bad date for too many people obviously we can always rise the day.

Kind regards,

Robin
