Brexit Deal

Because there is no Brexit scenario or future scenario better than what we’ve already got by staying as members. It’s difficult to better 759 trade deals with approximately 180 different countries and 81 full trade agreements....considering there are 195 countries on the planet that’s pretty good going.

I wasn't turning it into a pro-Brexit or pro-Remain question. Mrs May's deal by all accounts was like staying in the EU, so it wasn't a bad deal for the losing team? Now we might end up with no deal and the saga going on for months.

It wasn’t a pro Brexit or pro remain answer. It’s just the answer. No winners in this, just losers I’m afraid. The “losing team” as you put it can see the inferiority of it all, that’s all. Oh and of course the ERG and hardliners didn’t vote for it either. They voted against her deal. Brexit could have happened by now if it weren’t for them voting against it. They want no deal. They had Brexit in their hands.

Obviously the ERG hardliners didn't vote for it as it was like staying in the EU in all but name hence why I thought the Remainers would've voted for Mrs May's deal.

Why would Remainers vote for something that is inferior to our present position. Wasn’t it that Brexit was sold to us as something that would be “better” than what we already have. “Sunny uplands” and “we can have our cake and eat it” immigration etc and all that. So I guess as time has passed and the facts have come out and the reality check started to hit home, the MP’s are saying whoopsy we better vote this down. As a damage limitation.

I feel the focus of the objections to Brexit and May's Deal is no freedom of movement, for me that's what the EU is for me, a social thing rather than an economic thing, though it's hard to deny the economic aspect is worth membership alone.

Whilst I did not ever, ever, ever expect the UK to vote to leave the EU, on day one after I said;

1. Gov doesn't want to exit

2. Business doesn't want to exit

3. The Irish Border would be the main issue

I'm great I am.....

To me it’s not that simple. May’s deal was very different from staying in the EU, it withdrew us from the common market along with freedom of movement, the jurisdiction of the ECJ, Europol, European arrest warrants, intelligence sharing.

The hardliners ceased upon the “backstop” to paint the deal as “like staying in the EU”. What it was in reality is potential period under which, without a new trading relationship or other arrangements, we would have been bound by EU trade rules and free movement.

So, people who favoured a closer post Brexit arrangement hated it because it was too much “like leaving the EU” and people favoured the harder approach to brexit hated it because the backstop meant it wasn’t happening soon enough, “like staying in the EU” if you will.

Both teams kept their eye on the prize and no-one voted for it.

You poking the Bear mate ;)
Oh come on now, i’m A little soft cuddly bear.
Here’s a pic of me sunbathing today.....0820 am in winter, 24 degrees, with my smugglers on.
Some more observant will note that the Beer outlines what I think that most remainers talk;)

Selected.
Not Elected.

Not even in the ballot!
“ who complained that European leaders had overridden the will of European voters by installing a candidate who had not been floated during elections for European Parliament in May.”

MEPs narrowly backed Ursula von der Leyen as the next President of the European Commission. By 9 votes out of almost 800
“The confidence you placed in me is confidence you placed in Europe," she said after the result.

Narrow then, bordering on nil.

It was such a diabolical deal that no-one other than stupid works herself thought it was good.

Well there’s a simple answer to that.
To respect the result of a democratically held referendum and Because MP’s stood and were elected on a manifesto they promised to implement. They represent the people, not themselves.
May herself says it.
EACH AND EVERYONE OUGHT to listen to all of this....it’s astonishing to revisit this speech given where we are now.

Look at all those lying b’stards applauding “no deal blah blah”......Hammond etc,
listen to what May herself says about the future..it will be tough at first.....we will not betray the result of the referendum.

Go to 8mins 40secs......unfeckingbelievable......”think of what it would do to faith in our democracy, and they all applaud it........

Honestly, they all need locking up- treasonous.
They have made our country a laughing stock.
No new Tory leader will get this through......all those previously applauding have made it quite clear it’s not what they want.....400 odd Mp’s...17million plus ignored.

It’s time for a political revolution.
