Well folks

I’m 12 days in, confirmed covid 19. Have been in hospital since Tuesday.

Today is the perkiest I’ve been but I’m still a lifetime away from being back to normal.
I have significant bilateral pneumonia and so have a very long recovery ahead of me.

Not interested in sympathy, I’m getting overloaded with that lol

Happy to answer any questions on the whole experience though.

I will say it is a pretty terrifying thing at the more serious level. Never in a million years did I expect I’d get hit with it.

As an aside before I came in I had some GTS issues, so she’s sat off the battery just now, fingers crossed when I’m back home she starts up.

Good health to all

Sorry to hear and get well soon! How does it actually compare to having a flu? And what are your thoughts on current events on corona now that you have experienced it? Overhyping? Understating?

Please continue to have a level road to full recovery , can I ask

  1. Age
  2. Any previous underlying issues
  3. Smoker of any kind
  4. Are you aware of where you believe you were infected

Sounds like you have travelled a difficult road Ryan, glad to hear you seem to have turned the corner though. Best wishes and I'm sure the GTS will be fine!

Prioritising my best wishes for your recovery rather than the GTS's... no matter how beautiful the machine, flesh and blood is more important.

If you need me to pop in on my way to/from work and put it on a conditioner, give me a shout.
Happy to take it for a spin too...
Get well soon mate.

Following normal battery fix protocols 12 days disconnected should be more than long enough to fix any issues!

So how fit are the nurses?

Someone’s not been on their diversity and inclusion training.

Ive has flu once in my life and remember I couldn’t leave bed.
The lethargy and fatigue with covid strips you of the ability to perform even the smallest tasks.
The 9 days I had at home to rank the few meters to the en suite for a slash was an epic effort.

Where covid rallies ahead is the respiratory side of things. Now I basically had no cough, and that’s part the reason I wasn’t submitted.
Unbeknownst the whole time I was developing pneumonia and not have both lungs messed up with that.

Regards my thoughts on it now. It’s very serious. I’m 40, play football every week and go to the gym, and this has destroyed my lungs and my body.
It’s scary, the pneumonia is terrifying. I went to the bathroom in here a couple days ago to change clothes. They switched my oxygen to a bottle.
I felt fine at first but then I just started gasping for air, like really gasping, hyperventilating and I mever nearly made it the few meters back to me bed.

It warrants the concern because yes at the serious level it’s dangerous

Is that actually right or said in jest ? I’ll describe the car later but it was weird as ****.

Nurse fitness levels are disappointing apart from the one stood a meter from my bed right now lol
Of course everyone is wearing masks anyway !!

Not a single clue where I got this from. Sunday 22nd I was playing footy with my two boys, had Sunday dinner and laid on sofa, next thing I’m shivering and temp over 38. My highest temp was 40.6

My advice is please take this seriously, you don’t want this, you don’t want it at home and you don’t want it in hospital. If you get to my level you will get pneumonia and that’s a 6 month recovery irrespective of shifting the covid

What you've said there just confirms my initial thoughts of having it previously. But no-where near as bad as you did. I had a very mild case in comparison.
Yet I was still using my asthma inhaler several times an hour as opposed to once or twice a week. I used a years worth in three weeks.

Glad you're on the mend.

Hang on, you didn't want sympathy. MAN UP! It's only the flu.........
