If anyone hears of a complete 4WD system inc suspension for sale I would be very interested.

I'm thinking of making my 145 4WD with the 20v turbo engine.
I have heard its possible with the clever engineering and I love a challenge!

I certainly will and good luck with it. Make sure you keep us up to speed with some nice pics if you do go ahead with it.

I know of one GTV that is currently undergoing installation of the Q4 running gear, 2.0 Turbo & 4WD and therefore fitting the the same into a 145 shouldn't present too many issues although it is a squeeze just look inside a Q4 155. The 20v Turbo might be a tad to big but heh go for it if you can find the bits.

I did know where there was a Q4 write off but plans ares underway to transplant the mechanicals into another 155 body.

2L V6 turbo putting out about 200hp from memory.

I remember a guy called Fabio on the old SportsAlfa made his to a 3L V6 turbo, was savagely fast by all accounts and munched a GTA no bother.

200bhp is not a lot with a turbo on.....the V6 will be a quick car however

It handled better as it was not nose heavy, the 3L was only 25hp more so I recon they were probably identical point to point.

No contest in the sound stakes mind you and I would always take the 3LV6.

Remember this, sums up the 916 perfectly in my mind:

Forgot about that one Matt ....... Good revue.....You know I love the GTV V6 and would have another one tomorrow.......The only bit from me though is that I wonder why there wasn't more bhp coming from it. You look at other 6 cylinder engines around 2002 and some got 300 bhp plus out of them...........But then I suppose front wheel drive and 300bhp are not hpp bed fellows......

A standard GTV always struggled to put the power down but with a Q2 it was perfect...so could a GTV take 300 bhp with the Q2 I wonder...

Sure you are right Andy, it might have been the usual Fiat group pecking order again....no Maserati aloud to be faster than a Ferrari....no Alfa aloud to be faster than a Maserati...no Fiat aloud to be faster than an Alfa...and so on.

At the time of my 3.2 GTV in 2004, my mate had an SMG M3. In standard tune it put out about 330hp from memory, same 6 cylinder 3.2l although it was a straight 6 vs V6.

You could tune the M3 to give another 50 or do HP too.

A good point to make Andy and one to trink about why it produced such little bhp?

Tuning the Arese V6, you could get what, another 20hp?

Both engines where 24v too....and incidentally, point to point the M3 couldn't shake me which annoyed him immensely!!!
