Creaking drivers seat

I've had my 2009 Granturismo 4.7S for just over a year now and have finally decided that the totally annoying creaking sound from inside the car is coming from the drivers seat. Amazing how tricky it is actually trying to pin down where the sound has been coming from. I was convinced it was from the steering wheel area (possibly leather dash trim rubbing?) and I think I even posted about that. However, concerted effort today on a rare longer drive to pin this down. Definitely drivers seat. It creaks pretty much over every bump. I'm clearly totally overweight but I think a 6 foot tall, 14 stone bod is not too much weight for the seat :) . I think it must be the springs in the seat. Anyone experienced this? If so, any quick fix ideas or is it a bigger job/cost?

No GT experience but I’d look at the trim panels round the switches and backrest hinges and the seat belt buckle.

Alfa 159 seats used to suffer with this specially if they were near their lowest setting.

I could move mine a touch up or down and it would stop.

More permanent fix involved spraying chain lubricant onto the seat frame accessing from the back of the seat.

If you search youtube for sqeaking alfa 159 ti seats hopefully its a similar issue.

Is the seat belt buckle rubbing against the seat? I always put a bit of the soft side of adhesive velcro on my buckles. QP was OK but the rr and audi had to be sorted.

Are you sure it isn't your vinyl pants as you get sweaty?

Video on the 159 seats below gives you the idea.

If you want to rule out the seat base trim panels then try wedging small pieces of sponge between the trim panel and the seats. If the creaking stops you know whats causing it. If it doesnt stop it points towards the frame somewhere.

I think it was my Alfa GT that did this. I stuck a bit of suede between the buckle and the seat. All was good
