European Super League

The biggest story in football for years and years.

Kick them out of the Premier League, and football league, ban the players from playing in internationals, so they can't play in the European Championships and World Cups.
Don't watch the games, don't subscribe to the tv channels.

This is pure greed and nothing less.

It's an absolute disgrace!

Turn those greedy clubs into nothing clubs, they'll have no fans, take their earnings and their players.

It won’t happen, what you’ve said above will be enough for an about turn.

I really hope so.

Those 6 Premier League clubs should be expelled from it. Let them do a Rangers and start again at the bottom.
It's an insult to all of football.

It's happened.

Fück 'em. Proper fans, proper football will survive, football belongs to the fans, not the financiers....

I'd be surprised if this happens this time around but give the money men time to bribe the UEFA officials and it will be a done deal!
AFAIK it’s not sanctioned by UEFA, so therein lies the issue. We already have the same comp with a different name, Champions League. They’re trying to break away from UEFA & FIFA.

The game is rotten from its roots to the highest echelons, it’s been coming for a long time.

It’s just plain Heartless Wattie
Good point.
Once all 12 have been thrown out of their respective leagues and their players humiliated and thrown on the scrap heap of soccer, on behalf of Hearts I’d like to offer the best (Ronaldo, Messi etc) a Job Retention Scheme Apprenticeship at Tynecastle.

Out of interest, how the F are you gonna run a new Europeansuper league when you can barely travel beyond your garden walls - for the foreseeable future.
I think 28 days of compulsory quarantine at the lack of “Comfort Inn” should be immediately introduced for all professional footballers that wish to travel abroad.

Ought to end the project fairly rapidly.

And Brexit means visa issues for Brit players, Schengen visa no good, work permit or Sportsman visa if Schengen still do them.....

I am not sure I understand what the big issue is with this. As far as I understand they will continue on in domestic competition in addition to a mid week ESL. Surely if they deem that in the best interests of their club that is for them to decide. What have I missed? What harm could be caused? And go gentle.......As a QPR fan footballing life hasn't been easy.

Because it's a closed-shop tourney, no promotion, no relegation, just a fan-fleecing cartel for the privileged few.

Silly question and I honestly care not a jot about the game and the overpaid, cry babies that are supposedly professionals, but how can any UK club play in a European league of any type after brexy?

Was there a clause in the agreement somewhere?

They will be leaving the Premier League, the football league, the Champions league. Everything.

Just to line their own pockets.

It's just a name. It's just rich clubs wanting to get richer. Or rather the owners wanting to get richer. It's not about football.
Because if it were, they wouldn't be wanting to leave.
