Anyone know where I can get an Toll Tag online for travel in France and Italy, I can't find a way of getting one delivered to the UK. No doubt this is another Brexit bonus?

Worst case I suppose I can buy one when I am in France. I'm traveling solo through France and Italy in May and its a pain having to get out the car at the Peage or Italian Tolls to put in your debit card.

I got mine delivered to friends in Germany, who then delivered it to me to get around the Brexit issues and avoid paying the UK premium prices.

Go by Telepass pay per use made sense for my use - meaning no monthly fee for the months when you don't use the tag. It is supposed to work in all of Spain, France, Portugal and Italy. I tested those apart from Portugal on our Autumn trip and it worked fine.

They didn't seem to mind that the (billing) address they had for the delivery of the tag doesn't actually match my actual credit card billing address (NB They won't let you change the billing address to a UK address later). YMMV.

Good solution, I can hopefully get them delivered to my Daughter in Switzerland and she can send it onwards. :)

I had my bip and go delivered to uk. Works in france, spain, italy and portugal. Cheaper than emovis as no annual fee. Works great. Charges a bank account so you need to get the iban/swift number of your bank.

I am returning my emovis and the deposit refund will have paid for the postage of my bip and go.

Bip n Go works well for France, Italy and Spain and was delivered to my house. Download the app and you can sort it all from there.

I’ve had a few issues with billing though. Had to set up a Revolut account as I couldn’t get anything else to work (including Starling) and the direct debit doesn’t always go through but it’s straight forward to pay the bill through the app.

Lloyd's works fine and is tied to the missus account. LOL

As I understand it, it's Brexit-related but not directly Brexit-caused.

The European Direct Debit system charges a membership fee to the banks that participate. Post Brexit, some UK banks have decided that the fees are higher than are warranted for the number of European Direct Debit transactions their customers process and demand for the service, and therefore do not pay into the system. As a result their IBANs are blocked from the European Direct Debit system.

Others have made the opposite conclusion - whether because their customer base make more of these transactions or they've not looked as closely at their cost-base is unclear.

Interesting, its a bit odd that Santander are Spanish and Starling are not... anyway the main thing is I've got one thing less on my European Tour preparation list. :)

Glad you are sorted it is so much easier when you are on the road especially if on your own.

Santander as a group are Spanish, it is true, but the UK bank is not. Santander UK originates from three UK building societies - Abbey National, Alliance & Leicester and Bradford & Bingley - none of which are very Spanish...

Just happened to see this post and I will say be careful paying for tolls with a card in italy. When traveling we came across a toll where the applepay, nfc wouldn't work and I had to use card. It was the only time I didn't use the tap to pay and while I was there started getting random purchase attempts. I didn't want to cancel the card on the trip so I had to turn it off and on in the app to make purchases.
