Yes indeed, something that’s classically understated does not get the attention of the Boys in Blue. My 911 with the whale tail was a ridiculous attention grabber in the 80s … and no one ever issued a ticket, they just wanted to have look at the car!

The first one. It's a Modifcato (i.e. later car), which means the windows actually close and the rear suspension doesn't leak. Both these upgrades are a good thing. If I were to buy another 456, it would only ever be a Modificato car.

Sadly true of so many Italian cars. A friend who used to be MD at Maranello, Egham told me to always buy later versions of Maserati or Ferrari, early owners being part of the development team! I experienced a marked improvement in the 612 compared to the early cars. I have heard the same is true on 430s and FFs.

The green car is a turd. Apparent lacquer peel, stone chips, rust bubble, ancient tyres, rusty hubs, shoddy switchgear and driver's seat bolster wear that in no way reflects an alleged 30k miles. Run away very fast!

It says it's been refurbished, pah by whom, a bloke in a shed with Chinese tools from the car boot sale? I wouldn't even start walking towards it nevermind running away from it.

The other, however is much better looking and not too far away either.
Might pop over to view it...I've got a few days off over Christmas...there's no harm in looking....Is there?
