As you can see from other threads I am debating a Scaglietti for my next car but does anyone agree that the Scaglietti looks very much like a Maserati 4200 or 3200 with flashy wheels from a side view

dont think red is the best colour for the 612, TDF blue or Nero Daytona look the best for me. I wouldn't say it looks like a 4200 or 3200.

Yup, its a few inches longer.......but very similar silhouette....door aperture very 911 ish........and the rear 1/0th, aint quite as pleasing on the eye from a lateral aspect as it is on the 4200. Red doesn't truly suit it.

As you may know I love this car, from certain angles it resembles a 1950's design era, V12 6.0 and four seats what is not to like. Buy one just so you can let me have a ride, no other reason.....did I say this car is fantastic, the only reason it is not on my drive is that I can't afford one at the moment....maybe in three years time.

UM.....Must be age as can not see the 4200 in that..But I do love that car in red.......Do it...you only live once and if it doesn't work out just sell it............If you never own one you will always wonder what you missed...

Not too dissimilar, but then again they are both Italian front engined 2+2s so limitations of packaging, safety legistalation and aerodynamics will give them the same silhouette I suppose, much like the latest shape XKR looking like a DB9; they're all kind of similar, difference are just in the details and then under the skin.

I would love a Scag, a truly understated and classy Ferrari. Perefct for a man of your advancing years :)

Urby, i think they look totally different, for starters the 612 looks much longer and has a lower roof line and a much longer bonnet.

And speaking of which, surely a decent GT / GT-S can be had for Scagletti money? Now at that point, not sure what I would rather have...

To me, Ferrari make sports cars, Maserati make GTs so I would go GT-S over 612.

Perfect combo for me would be F430 Spyder and GT-S to cover both bases...

True.....but lines have been blurred at times........and we have the Ferrari/Maserati SUV to look forward too, and the small saloon!!!!!!!!!!
