Pretty much. Lying on my back, feet sticking out from the rear, with the car on stands changing those pads, which you can't see because they go in from the top (sort of) and not understanding why the **** caliper wouldn't wind back.....

C

dead easy when sitting on a pallet:p
[/QUOTE]

The racers use to always cut a hole behind the rear seats so that they could change the rear pads from inside the car much easier when racing

Not done the Alfa ones apart from on my 2000 Berlinetta and they were outboard.
But have done a few Jaguar inboard rears and they can test your patience.

the alfa inboard are fairly straightforward even if working from axle stands and a piece of cake with a ramp, I've never had to do any jag ones but from seeing photos of set up it does seem a b1tch to do

spent a couple of hours completing the rear A frame/transaxle this afternoon, bit stumped now until alfa archives re-open and confirm paint code

Yes looking good, I would adjust the pads while you can get to them, you can play with the adjusters easily there but make a note which way they turn to adjust for future ref, you will need it!!
The pipe from exhaust to air cleaner looks in good nick, is it new? mine is getting rough and I can't find another like it. There should be a plastic strap across it to clamp it to the plastic holder, these are fragile and again I don't know where you would get one from, mine has now broken but I have both parts and was looking for someone who could copy it on a printer , any ideas?
I believe EB spares do the gear lever linkage if you want to go that route.
Now an apology I said I would post some pic's of my cars but I will honour that not sure when tho, ok found some ,more to follow

Lovely GTV you have there, duly noted on the pad adjustment.
The pipe and air cleaner box is all original, I'm looking to keep the car as standard as possible and managed to source a lot of NOS parts from Italy, Germany, America and Portugal and from wonderful ebay sellers, things like standard shock absobers, standard springs, alternator, brake pressure regulator, as new exhaust manifolds and some rare genuine magnetti marelli ht leads.

If you need any spares just go to ebay Italy (ebay.it) that's how I managed to get most parts including German suppliers that advertise only on the Italian site and frankly surprised how quick they arrive in the UK, just had the springs delivered today from Italy that I ordered on ebay 10 days ago
I have used EB spares for a few parts as well

I did come across a lot of parts on Italian ebay during my exhaustive searches for NOS parts and I'm pretty sure I came across a few complete air boxes, send me a picture of what yours looks like and i'll see if I can trace them again

Here are some pic's of the spider, bought last year with only 18000 miles on it, I bought it to do an European trip, as I was recovering from lymphoma I didn't want to do all the driving so wanted something easy to drive so the better half could share the drive. Did 2700 miles over there, it is great fun and drives like new, these are seriously under estimated provided you get a good one. The lady who owned it cherished it and I had to be interviewed before she would sell it to me:cool:
Sorry if this is thread drift but you did ask for pic's, really enjoying this thread.
Guess you will want info on the Montreal next.
Cheers Geoff

This is the air cleaner pipe I am looking for, mine is getting fragile, the plastic strap beside it I believe are unobtainable, the last one I saw on a car was mine!! but I think these could be easily 3D printed if you know anyone with a printer. The pipe is wire reinforced but made out of some sort of paper/cloth/cardboard material, I see yours has writing on it, any chance of there being a name. It has a 55 mm internal dia and is about 460 mm long, tried a few places but no joy. I like you am trying to keep original.
I stripped all the rear off my car last year powder coated and re-bushed all new springs and shocks etc. On mine there is a rubber fuel pipe that goes from the tank across the car which you can now get to with the suspension off, it's a good idea to replace this while you are in that area.
I will sort out some Montreal pic's later, but have to warn you that it's my project and been going on for a while:(

My twin brother was in Malaysia for several years and was always sending me ads like this especially old Ford Escorts and Capris oh and Mini Coopers.
Keep us updated :)

is this the part you need

Im pretty sure I did come across the pipe a while back from Italy ebay seller, didn't save it as not needed, will see if I can find it again.

Already spotted the rubber fuel pipe going through floor to tank and i'm going to replace it and the steel pipe that goes to pump as well, including the steel clutch hydraulic pipe
