A Fiat Dino Spyder sold at auction here in OZ last week for A$270,000,(that's about 140,000 pommie shells & beads,pre-Brexit). It wasn't concours standard, far from it. Usual oil leaks from everywhere, lots of paint defects & various gizmos not working. However, every car nut's wet dream. One of the very best looking devices every put on four wheels.

Please let me reintroduce myself as I haven’t been on here for many years.
Former owner of 3 Maserati’s (sorry! Lamborghini now) but also the proud new owner of Whizzo Williams’s Fulvia 1600 HF.
I’ve always wanted one as in my eyes the Fulvia is just about the perfect automotive shape (especially without bumpers).
Unfortunately since the sad death of Whizzo the car had not been used so it needed a little TLC, not a lot and fortunately I’m in striking distance of a Howard (Allitalia, highly recommended). It’s a joy to drive and such a change to get back to useable performance. I’m going to rally it up a bit but make sure that nothing is iriversible
Cheers Andy.

Welcome back, I have some photos of Whizzos HF from when he attended a Silverstone Social meet a couple of years ago (off to search them out)

well done in securing it, I had a look at that car when it went to auction through Silverstones recently with a view of bidding on it, but just went too high for my liking, it's a nice motor

Depending on what you're looking for, I might be prepared to sell my Fulvia, feel free to drop me a pm if interested.

you certainly have a beaut there and would be my next port of call if no luck in getting an HF at reasonable money, although the montecarlos are pretty rare machines as well now
Having seen Andy's in the flesh here in France this Summer and been lusting after one ever since.
Having grown up around them with my fathers involvement with the Jolly Club of Milan in the 60s and 70s gutted I have never owned one yet.

never say never, seems like you of all people should really get one, life's too short to have regrets

That was my logic, Montecarlo and Safaris are not far behind HF cars now and I like mine because it has some period mods, seats & magesium wheels. Tempted to do some roan rallies over here in Ireland but may have to fit a cage so will have to think if that will have a detrimental impact on its value

agreed on the montes and safaris, my opinion on mods is don't do it especially on something as beautiful as your monte, I tend to like original un molested

Thanks for the welcome Guy’s.

The auction coincided with Carfest North and my Wife and I were camping there so I actually bought the car without seeing it. Foolish I know but auctions descriptions have to be pretty accurate and I figured that so long as there were bids from the room (i.e. from people who had been able to inspect it) I would phone bid up to my max and not go beyond (I actually got it for a little less than I had planned).

The car is everything I hoped it would be’ it needed a bit of work on the brakes, slight cylinder head gasket leak which turned out to just need a little more torquing up and a couple of other bits and pieces. All it needs now is the twin Weber’s setting up on a rolling road (booked in).

The restoration was done by IR (Ian Nuthall) Racing in Nottingham and included the fitting of series 1 ally bonnet, boot lid and doors.

The photos of your cars look great! At one time mine was actually white.

Talking of photos, sorry I’m a bit of a dinosaur so don’t know how to do that. Now if any of you kind souls would allow me to email you some I would be happy to show you.
Cheers Andy
