Has this thread somehow drifted back into its actual subject? Wait, nope, it’s drifted again.....

Can she come to Le Mans? I know you can't make it, Dave.
No girls....1st year I went, I was coming in own car and looking for a partner, Katy, very lovely girl I worked with said I’ll come, total car nut, probably knows more about engines etc than most on here and I had to tell her she wasn’t allowed..
Just as well, she’s a stunner..

You work hard and the **** EU and their ridiculous quest to save the planet is legislating these fine engines out of existence. Do you want to look back, on your death bed and say “I wish I’d just lived a little and enjoyed a v12.”

How’s that?

Yeah I know, not sure can do F car v12 tho, so may have to be AM, which is hardly a hardship is it..

An AM will do you just fine, Dave. I love mine. It's small, nimble and sounds phenomenal. It also brings my happy face out from the dark depths of my tortured soul. Which is nice.

I've got a DB9 volante. fantastic car (best I've owned). Only got the QP as a cheap 4 door daily (though I do love it). There is no comparison, and Aston V12 is, like a Ferrari V12, just a cut above the v8 engined cars... in more ways than just sound.

Started off wanting the Volante but other half who doesnt do roof down and no garage pushed me to the coupe.
Was sorely tempted with the Vantage V8 (Just think it is one of the all time great looking cars) but deciding factor was having had a V8 Maserati it had to be a V12 for a change. Long term Volante will be where the money is if past AM models are anything to go on.

This is big trouble Adam and Iain. It would appear that Dave has accidentally selected the “need to run it by the wife” option. This is serious, I’m not sure that even one of the UK’s top cosmetic surgeons can repair this type of damage.

It’s just the type of amateur mistake that is happening all too often these days. How is the high street to recover if the Dave’s of this world are not educated about the benefits to our economy, the reduction in the post-Brexit apocalypse impact, sea turtle saving and how grin factor directly affects our ability to keep Corbynism at bay?

Without education starting in the home, we are doomed.
Sorry I missed this at the time! So right NEVER EVER EVER press that button - unless it allows you to press it unlimited times with repeated negative responses and it is overruled with the ‘**** what you think I am going to do it and face the consequences anyway button’. You should find that oversized red button right in the middle of the hand piece. The letters may be a little worn...

Well.......

I pick the new girl up on saturday (24th) :rofl5:

Morning Frost white. Lightweight wheels (black) , black effect roof, carbon fibre exterior pack, carbon fibre interior pack.
I am very lucky that my partner was in total agreement that the the deal was just too good to miss. She is now demanding to be put on my insurance....... Might have to relent on this.
So now we have 4 cars.... 3 of them are two seaters, and the 4 seater is a Fiat 500.. :saifi2: Am I doing something wrong?

Andy, a man after my own heart! We have two cars... and half of them are a Fiat 500. The other is a white V12 Aston with a black roof and lightweight wheels. I'd say you are doing something very right. Well done.

The interior carbon pack is rare. My ideal spec was with the c/f waterfall console thingy, but they are few and far between and I got mine for such a ridiculous price that I was happy to 'compromise'. I thought that was well as the fingerprints, the piano black trim would be annoyingly reflective. Happily fingerprints and dust are are the only issue with it. For around £1200 (iirc) to switch to c/f, I can put up with fingerprints and dust.

Good choice with the lightweight wheels. They look excellent, much nicer than the standard ones.

Regarding insurance, I saved £120 / 25% by taking my wife off my insurance. With the GTS I saved about the same when I put her on. As she doesn't really like driving it's not a problem.

I had a V8 Vantage, great car, totally reliable throughout years of ownership.

Now I buy a GTS MC and join this forum, and find that the Vantage was the car to have all along...

Wonder how motivated main dealers are as we enter winter (talking V12V)?

Oh, hugely, would be my guess. I'm off to persuade mine to do me a great deal on upgrading the infotainment wotsit to something more recent (perhaps from the Cretaceous period) without me needing to donate a kidney or two for the pleasure. I'm hopeful that the end of quarter / end of year / it's bloody winter effect will help.

Anyway, yes, it's subversive band of splitters who are voting against Maserati's strategy by buying different cars. It's a shame, but they simply no longer make anything my boyhood self would have had as a poster on his wall. Pretty much all of the cars owned on here would have qualified.

Missing: one halo model.

Is it just a software upgrade?

Sadly no - apparently some hardware type stuff as well, and a fair amount of internal dismantling. I've seen £1.5-3k banded around, which is a lot even for a far better satnav and Apple CarPlay. Still, it's worth asking. The current infotainment thing pooed its pants at the weekend and needed a battery rest to sort itself out. And then the seats and windows needed resetting as well.

It's just like having a Maserati, really.
