You must felt like the dogs funny bits Loz when you had the Volumex?

P

There always a part of everyones life that you felt was the best , the time when eveything you touched turned to gold , you pulled all the best birds or guys , the lad or ladette around town , well 1984 was another one of those years for me Frank , that was my ONE and only time that i bought a brand new car ,

Just so happens Frank , Kaz's bro was in the Queens 2nd and did 3/4 tours of NI , now that would be a turn up for the book , he was a tall chap, red berry , carried a black pointy thing with a hole in one end

I am sure I have posted some (if not all) of the attached photos on a previous thread that deviated to all things Lancia.
This fellow that lives in Sydney is lucky enough to own both the 037 and Stratos in the photos.
Both are genuine too.
The 037 is not a butchered Montecarlo with lots of plastic and fibreglass.
I was lucky enough to drive behind the 037 in my Monte and the soundtrack was sensational.
Mind you, we were both passedby a B24 Aurelia Spider!

That black 'grale is the absolute spit of my old one. Glad I had it, even more glad I sold it.

If you want a four wheel drive rally weapon I agree an Evo V makes a lot more sense. The Grale is a stunning thing to behold, and iconic, but the ownership experience is one for the truly dedicated/insane. (esp at £85k!!!)

I was lucky with mine....had them over two years and only broke down once....

Been doing some research of late , and only just realised the full implication the HPE Volumex had , on both Fiat, Lancia and Abarth rallying , it played a major role ,i never realised at the time , it was just a fast italian 4 seater car to me , Typical ford/german beater, Im learning different now and i'd like it back or another just like it , There's a larger supercharger that Abarth produced for the later 037's , sort of like an extra jockey's whip hahaha awesome sound at revs , unlike turbo that cut in at certain revs superchargers are on all the time and scream the higher the revs
