What a strange few hours....

Get a txt from a close friend, saying he's bought something Italian beginning with La...see you at 7.
Then get a call at 6:30 saying he has broken down, maybe run out of petrol, and he has forgotten his wallet!
I say, well what have you broken down in? the reply...a one owner '74 Lancia Fulvia 3 he has just bought today!
Jump in car with my emergency 20lt can and 10 minutes later see an absolutely lovely dark blue Fulvia parked at the side of the road.
Empty can into car, and instead of the fuel gauge reading half, it now reads empty...but unfortunately no joy, turns over and just splutters and stalls, then the battery dies, no choice but to leave with a call logged to the AA, and it now dark.
What a shame to the first day of Fulvia ownership for my good friend.
Looking forward to seeing it run...very shortly hopefully.

Just phoned me, on way home, fuel blockage, the fuel at the carbs was like beer mixed with rust.
So first job fuel tank clean and carb rebuild!

That is a proper Mafia car right there. I'm sure they all drove those in that awesome series Romanzo Criminale...

I used to really like those, they looked as though they should have something like a 6 pot twin carb in there, instead it was a 1.3..!!

Lovely colour combo. Always hankered after one of those. Almost bought one in the 70's - can't remember why I didn't now. Certainly one that got away. Happy motoring.

They say you should never drive your dream cars.

I had the opportunity to drive one many years ago. I always hankered after one ever since a friend had one; with a lovely cream leather interior too.

But driving it was a big disappointment. Cars have obviously moved on a lot since the '70s and it felt slow, heavy steering, ponderous pedals and I found I was concentrating on trying to change gear smoothly, which wasn't easy, rather than the drive.

Those guy have offered some lovely cars for sale but top, top prices too. They seem to sell but I wonder what price they achieve?
There's no doubting this is one nice Zagato though

They are always top money but they do seem to get some nice cars. I would like to know how near the asking prices they actually get

Love Fulvias and love Zagato designs but just can't get on with this. It's only a 1.3 so not particularly cheap but interesting all the same.

I so want a Fulvia 1.6 HF but they are now to expensive and Mrs Z will kill me.
