Lancias at Mitcar

There weren't too many there at the weekend (for the first time at an Italian car show, I didn't see a single Delta Integrale?!) but did anyone else see the red Beta VX? What a delight! And the Stratos replica parked in the Maserati area was a bit special too.

I've always had a soft spot for Lancias so congratulations to the owners for keeping them going

The hawk was very special....owner wouldnt accept a cheque for it though which was disappointing.

I think he was hinting at selling though - hardly uses it, it should be driven more etc ... It was an older build, 10 years plus and apart from needing new paint because of the bubbling, it looked great and unusual to see a Lancia engine in the back too.

So maybe you could make him an offer, the colour also nearly matches yours!

I don't know how to do that but what a great clip.

I used to work in an accountancy firm with Rowan Atkinson as a client and always had great conversations with him about his cars, he had an incredible collection. He bought a genuine Stratos in Group 4 spec I guess in the early 90's which needed a full restoration They used many parts from Hawk / Transformer Cars as they were much better quality than the Lancia parts that were available but it did look great when it was finished.

I spotted a pretty coupe 1.6, but not a volumex, so must have missed that I guess.

The Hawk was lovely and with the 2.0L Lancia in the back weighing in at 850 kilos, it must be a nippy little thing. I spoke to him for some time. Nice guy. Hadn't tracked it though, which I thought was a shame.
